4 CHAPTER 4: THE ENCOUNTER

*...The day of the meeting with Mr. Ahmed has arrived...*

Leslie: Mom and Dad it is already 14:00 p.m. we have to go

Dad: Are you ready?

Leslie: YES!!!

Dad: Ok, lets go.

*They left the house and went to the restaurant and met Mr. Ahmed*

Mr. Ahmed : Good afternoon, I am Mr. Ahmed.

Dad: Good Afternoon, I am Leslie´s father and we came here to talk about the scholarship.

Mr, Ahmed: Oh, ok, I see you are a very straightforward man, so lets begin

Dad: Ok

Mr. Ahmed: First of all, thank you for coming, My name is Ahmed and from the capital city, I have a master degree in physics and i work on a big school called"Eclipse"and our school has created a scholarship system this year, so, me and other six teachers when to different small villages like this to search for kids with bright future like your son.

Dad: So, are you telling me that our son was the best in the school?

Mr. Ahmed: Yes, he got a score of 98.5/100.

Dad: Wow, that is awesome!

*Dad and Mom looked at Leslie with a proud face*

Dad: So, do you have any pictures of the school?

Mr. Ahmed: Yes i have, i was about to show you.

*Mr. Ahmed takes his phone from his pocket and showed the pictures of the school to them*

Mom: Wow! The School is very big and with a lot of laboratories and from what i can see from the pictures the hygiene is the best.

Mr. Ahmed: Yes miss, our school is a 5-Stars school.

Mom: Son you are very lucky to go there!

Leslie: Yesss mom.

Mr. Ahmed: So, to finish i will like to tell you the rules and show you the contract that you have to sign.

*Mr. Ahmed takes out the contract*

Mr. Ahmed: So the rules are simple, he will have to obey all school basic rules like wearing uniform, attend to all classes, be always in time. Now about the dormitory he will have to live his room clean and tidy, and he cant leave or be visited at the dormitory until the vacation break.

Dad: So wait, are you telling that i am going to stay one year without seeing my son?

Mr. Ahmed: Yes, that is it.

Mom: Why? We never stayed so many time without our son but let me ask something, when are you going to leave?

Mr. Ahmed: Tomorrow

Mom: Can we go together with him?

Mr. Ahmed: No, you can not.

Dad: So, are you telling me that you are just going to take our son and we will never see where are you taking him?

Mr. Ahmed: Yes, that's it

Dad: I cant accept it, i dont know if you are really going to take him to the school, maybe you are going to kidnap him, who knows!?

Mr. Ahmed: Mister, it doesn't matter if you accept it or not, the one that chooses is your son

Dad: But he is underage, you cant take him without his parents approval.

*Mr. Ahmed takes out some paper from his bag*

Mr. Ahmed: I have here a document approved by the government that allows me to take him even without his parent signature.

Dad: You must be kidding!!!

Mom: Honey stop, so son, what are you going to choose? Stay here safe with your family or leave us for a year with a stranger?

*Leslie on his mind: Right now i dont know what to do, one side my parents are right, is not safe to leave my village with a stranger for a year but on the other side, i have an opportunity to study in a 5-stars school that can give me a really good education and a brighter future, so i think i am going to the school even tho i dont really know where i am going but sometimes in life the unknown is the thing that you need to pursue, to conquer your dreams! Sometimes in life you need to do sacrifices to be happy, so i am going to the school, fight the adversities and come back and give my family a happier life.*

Leslie: Mom and Dad, i am going to the school.

*... And Leslie signs the contract...*
