3 chapter 2: death

I looked around me and all I saw was devastation and ruin, not to mention all the fires you could see roam around like raging dragons burning anything and everything that got into its way.

I was both fascinated and terrified by the view. Fires were the only things i actually feared, like just imagine burning to death. I always pitied all the witches that were burned on stakes and one thing was for sure; I would never want to experience that. So whoever burned to death in these fires right now, got my deepest sympathy. Usually people would say they were praying for their souls or some shit but I don't pray. I don't believe in god and I had my reasons to. However that didn't stop people from pestering me to join their religion. I always hated it. In between all the fires I could occasionally make out Industrial complexes and farmland on hills, that seemed to still be untouched by the flames. It was only a matter of time, till the flames would reach these places and eat them up like a greedy child too.

I was drifting off with my thoughts when something caught my attention. I was just looking at the other side of the train from a carriage part I had no access to, when I saw a figure climbing out of it.

The figure was tall and masculine. He had black hair, it was so dark, it reminded me of the view I had when I looked out of the windows in the abyssal room. A darkness that felt endless and I caught myself almost getting lost in it.

The guy turned around and took notice of me. He walked up towards where I was sitting. For some reason , my heart started pounding with every step he took towards me.

Was I attracted to this guy? No impossible. I've never felt anything like a first sight love or any attraction towards someone before, especially not based on looks. Then why was my heart hammering so loud?

The closer he got ,the worse it felt. Then it hit me like a truck; My instincts were warning me to make a run for it. He was dangerous!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile as I was climbing out of the train, I took a look around. I noticed a girl sitting a few metres away from me. I drew my sword and walked in her direction. She had pretty grave injuries from what I could see, but it didn't matter to me, she wouldn't be able to run away this way. It was quite good for me actually.
Since she survived, she must be the one I'm looking for right now.
I stopped two steps in front of her and  saw her painfully staggering up from her spot, staring at me suspiciously. She got good Instincts, I give her that.
Grabbing her by the neck and raising her into the air, I was able to see eye to eye with her.
"Your name"
*cough*
"ANSWER ME!", I demanded in a cold and resolute tone.
*cough cough* "Reverie"*cough*
There it was. That cursed name. The name of the dreamer. I had to kill her, while i still can, or I would regret it for the rest of my life.
"I see. So it's really you. Curse your bad luck"
I took a swing with my sword; *stab*
I stabbed her heart and heared only a single cough, with blood that spilled out of her small mouth.
I saw these beautiful emerald colored eyes looking at me with so much affection while they lost its brilliance. I knew these eyes very well but I wouldn't let them waver my resolve ever again.
"Th-than..k..yo..u...."
A small smile escaped her lips before she died. I was so shocked that I dropped both her body and my sword. She thanked me? Why? I killed her just now...why would she thank me??! I guess I'll never know the answer, but it made me feel restless regardless.
"I see. So it's really you. Curse your bad luck"
*stab*
I felt something cold pierce my chest. It didn't hurt as much as i expected, like it was a fast and rather painless death. I felt relieved, though I thought dying was more...you know... depressing!
Usually all these authors out there described death as something ,where you would reminiscent on your life and feel regret for so many things just to then wish to not die, but I had none of this.
I simply felt relieved and kind of understood why, my life was a shitty mess after all.
The only regret that came to mind was Nox, how would he fare now? I wish I could hold him in my arms one more time and tell him, that I love him and that im sorry for leaving him behind.
Staring at my killers eyes, I began to smile, he had rather sad eyes. Full of pain and sorrow, they were really similar to mine actually. This guy was going through alot as well it seems.
"Th-than..k..yo..u..."
I thanked him for releasing me of this pain and closed my eyes. That was the last thing I heared or felt.
