77 A Picnic under the Sun.

≈ Woah! This place is amazing! its grander than the Citadel of Magic!≈ Exclaimed Miastiti when they entered the courtyard.
"Haha! Thank you! It was a lot of work but I've really outdone myself with this place!" Konrad proclaimed proudly.
Mia looked at him surprised.
≈You outdone yourself? What do you mean?≈ She asked clearly confused.
"Of course I mean that I did it all by myself! I'm the only Mage on the entire planet and I'm keeping that fact from everyone. This place is my secret home! It took me two months to finish it, and I did most of building using Magic! You wouldn't believe how much of a learning experience that was." He said and he couldn't help but laugh seeing Miastiti's shocked expression.
≈You are a monster... ≈ She said not really meaning it and making Konrad snicker.
"Come, come. Let's have a picnic by the small lake." He said before pulling her by her hand.
Mia became completely crimson because of his touch, but she didn't shy away and followed behind him.
Before long the two of them sat on a blanket by the water, and a number of treats were spread in front of them.
Mia was really surprised with Konrad's space storage but he told her that he would explain it later.
She enjoyed munching on the cookies and Konrad thought that she looked utterly adorable with her current bright, smiling expression. It was so different from the traumatized girl that she was most of the time. At this moment he vowed to keep this girl happy so that he could see her smile every day.
'Is this how love on the first sight feels?' He thought, with a warm feeling spreading in his chest.
Mia wasn't unaware of Konrad's gaze. She felt heat coming to her cheeks but she masked it while eating the seventh cookie.
From the short interaction she had with him, she could tell only good things about Konrad. He was handsome, strong, very devoted to his work and proud of his achievements. She also didn't feel any malice from him. It was so nice to meet someone who wasn't like all those corrupt nobles with hidden agendas. She felt that if he were to kiss her now, she wouldn't object. 'Wait...what am I thinking' She suddenly thought while becoming even redder.
"So, how do you feel?" Konrad asked.
≈What?! I don't feel anything!≈ she exclaimed, making Konrad raise his brow questioningly.
≈I-I mean...I'm alright. Sorry, I was thinking about something strange there.≈ She said embarrassedly.
Konrad smiled.
"It's alright. I also sometimes find my mind wandering in weird places..." He looked into her eyes and accidentally got mesmerized by them, involuntarily adding-
"You have really beautiful eyes..." Then he realized what he said and blushed while averting there gaze.
"Sorry. I-I guess my mind also went for a walk just after I said it Haha..."
Mia's heart skipped a beat at his words. Why was she reacting like this? She used to be a strong warrior but now she suddenly acted like a maiden...
Suddenly, there was the sound of something approaching them quietly. It was Octavia. She sat on the lap of Konrad as if demanding a scratch. Konrad of course obliged and processed with applying the scratches to her favourite places. She once told him that scratching in her cat form is by far the most enjoyable out of all her forms.
"Right, I should probably tell you more about Octavia." Konrad said suddenly.
≈ More? Isn't she just a cat? ≈ She asked clearly confused.
Konrad grinned.
"She might look like this now but the truth is that my little Octavia is no cat at all. I assume you know how to feel Mana since you correctly guessed my power level. Try using it on her." Konrad said anticipating Mia's expression.
He wasn't disappointed.
≈Impossible! Even she is almost two times stronger than me!≈ Mia exclaimed in shock. How could this little kitty be stronger than her?! What was it really?!
"Haha! Your expression was precious. And Octavia is actually a magical creature of the weakest type. But thanks to extensive training she became the most powerful slime in the history of this planet!" He exclaimed proudly and Octavia turned into her blue slime form.
Mia fell onto her knees in defeat.
≈ I'm weaker than a slime...a slime...≈ she started to mutter but her head was caressed by Tavy's Tentacle.
"Don't be so down Mia. Octavia is Mutated Assimilation Slime Queen. She's not only a royal bloodline of a powerful ancient species but she's also a mutated specimen who absorbed Adamantite. If it wasn't for her then I wouldn't achieve even half i had today. She's also much smarter than you think. I can easily talk with her telepathically since she is my familiar and she has more brains than many humans." He explained and watched as she sat back with a new respect to the slime in front of her.
Konrad And Miastiti Continued to chat while Octavia observed their interactions. Suddenly a realization came to her when she looked how they were becoming closer with each other with every second.
'Im going to be left behind! I need to do something or Daddy is going to Like this girl more!'
With that thought, Octavia left the picnic and went to grab her computer. She had a new research and she was glad that her dolphin transformation was almost finished.
'Just you wait Daddy! I won't be bested in loving you!'

They chatted for a long time and Konrad told her about the time she spend in the Ritual. It was a real shock to her and she spend a long while in his embrace crying into his chest.
The fact that her former Kingdom was now an empty desert, really struck her hard but there was no way to make it easier for her. He could only hug her and try to sooth her pain.
When she was finally somehow calm, Konrad started to tell her the known history of the world after the Taboo Spell. She listened to his story with great curiosity but she refused to leave his embrace. Before long, her lead landed on his lap where he started to caress it. He was about to tell her about the Roman empire when his hand found the fluffy black ears. Going with the flow he didn't even realize when he started to massage them. he only got an indication when he heard a Nya coming from Mia followed with her breathing getting rough. Did that turn her on?!
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to do that." He quickly said, hoping that he didn't cross some kind of border.
But she grabbed his hand and put it back on her head with a blush.
"It's alright...I don't mind...if it's you..." She whispered shyly. The last fragment almost inaudible.
If Konrad heard the entire reply, he would have realized that he might have really crossed some kind of border here.
He continued caressing her head and ears while telling her the history.
She was trying to keep a straight head as it was all really interesting but she had a really hard time. At that moment, she completely forgot about the suffering she went through. This felt so relaxing. She just wanted to stay like this forever.
she didn't realize when she fell asleep but when she woke up the next day she was once again in this comfy bed in the same room like the last time. She noticed that she was still in the same wavy white dress she wore yesterday and there was no bandages like yesterday. The bed was clean and comfy. She decided to enjoy the quiet moment of comfort for a while longer before starting her new day.
'I must have fallen asleep when we were having a picnic. Konrad actually brought me all the way here without waking me up. He's such a sweetheart.' She thought with a blush. But then she remembered how she fell asleep and her blush reddened. 'If mom knew that I allowed a stranger to touch my ears she would have given me a beating like none other Haha...' She laughed awkwardly.
Her feet soon led her back towards the bathtub and she noticed the clearly clean and hot water already prepared for her. But there was also an assortment of clothes that made her smile involuntarily.There was an assortment of white, airy dresses similar to the one she wore currently, among other clothes.
There was also some underwear that Konrad hinted on being important for today's interpretation of decency. And for some reason, knee long socks and a number of footwear without heels.
Konrad knew that she wouldn't be able to walk on heels and she needed boots to protect her beautiful feet.
There was also a new basket of fruits that this time contained only the ones she enjoyed yesterday and a few new ones that she was yet to try. She smiled seeing his simple effort in making her happy.
She quickly took a relaxing bath and grabbed a clean dress and underwear. After a while of consideration she also wore the white knee long socks and boots (that Konrad wouldn't be able to identify as a man...but they were called Moccasin.)
She was enjoying her second fig when the door opened and Octavia walked inside, only to meow at her in greetings.
≈ Hey Octavia. Are you here to take me to Konrad?≈ She asked with a smile.
The cat/slime nodded it's head So Mia grabbed the fruit basket and followed behind the Familiar.
When they were in the Entrance Chamber Octavia stopped and pointed it's paw towards the staircase.
≈ You mean to tell me that Konrad is up there in the same room as yesterday? ≈ She asked and Octavia once again nodded her head before turning away and disappearing in a flash of light when she reached the center of the sun mosaic.
That surprised Mia quiet a bit but she shrugged and went to see Konrad. She couldn't wait for yet another dat-*Cough* talk.
