Limitless Book One, Rebirth
Aurelius was 26 when he died, he spent his life always helping others, always putting them before himself.
One day, he hit it big, he had won a large portion of money from an online competition, he thought his self-sacrifice over the years had finally paid off.
He was wrong, the one person he thought he could trust, betrayed him, cornering him in a dark alleyway, he was told, his money or his life.
Looking at his betrayer, Aurelius realised he had been too trusting. Not wanting to lose his newfound fortune, he fought back.
This cost him his life, looking at the man he called friend, holding a gun to his head. He could only ask one question.
Why?
In this life, he would never find out, looking down the barrel of the gun, time slowed down. As a flash of light shot forth, he watched as the bullet shot towards him, ending it all.
Or that's what he thought, drifting through the cosmos, his consciousness flowed through the void endlessly, how many years went by... he did not know. Until a power grabbed him, pulling him to an unknown place.
When he finally opened his eyes from what felt like an eternity, a new world greeted him.
So begins a new chapter for Aurelius, determined to never trust, to never let down his defences... to never be so... helpless.
