I feel so much better because of Earl's message

"yeah, thanks, it means a lot" I text back

Not long after he replied

"not at all, how's practice going?"

"ahh we just finished, I'm heading home now"

"really? I'm going home now too"

"where are you?"

"at the library, finishing up the report"

"wait for me"

I sprinted to the lib and he's waiting at the entrance

"hey" he said when he spotted me

"I'll send you home, did you bring your car?" he looks like a goddess with innocent eyes

"I didn't, it broke down yesterday" he say with a small disappointed smile

"I'll drive for you" I said with a grin

While walking to the parking lot we were silent but, it's not an awkward kind of silence

"by the way, when's your first official game?" Earl asks slightly fidgeting

"on the 21st, why?" I said glancing at him

"I see, I can... Ahhhm, can I watch? I mean, if it's-"

"of course you can!!! That would be amazing" what he just said uplifted my spirit and courage for doing my best on the game

I smiled from ear to ear and jog to open the front passenger seat to let Earl hup on the car, he voiced a little thank you

"did you have dinner yet?" I ask Earl keeping my eyes on the road

"not yet, I'll eat at home"

"okay" I know, I know, I'm trying to make a small talk since I don't want him to get bored around me

"you haven't eaten too, right?"

"huh? y-yeah" I glanced at him for a second, he's looking intently at me

"let's eat together then, I mean if that's okay"
