6 War History 101 Part 2 : Fall of the Sumerians

"When your father declared war, myself and those of us who were there during Lucifer's war decided not to participate, We knew that us fighting would only lead to destruction, and so we decided to leave the fighting to the near generation."

"Of all the Pantheons in the world only my Pantheon, the Hindu, the Sumerians, and the newer Persian and Norse Pantheons joined the war, the rest of the smaller and weaker pantheons that had appeared in the world decided to stay out of it knowing they did not hold the power to challenge Kronos or any of the other larger Pantheons."

"I commanded my lieutenant and best fighter Set along with his brothers Osiris and Horus to lead our armies. The Trimurti had already seceded control over to Indra god of Storms, Thunder, Lightning, Rain and War and young and very ambitious God who had a certain disdain for what he dubbed lesser pretender gods like the Norse or Persians. Odin would lead the Aesir into battle wanting to cement his place in the world as a true God and satisfy his thirst for war. Ahura Mazda was a wise and patient ruler but after one too many insults from Kronos and Indra, he too would join the war with the Persian gods. The last to join was the Sumerians, they had been having issues and warring among themselves since the beginning of time, Abzu and Tiamat having fallen to the younger gods, and now Enlil son of Anu and God of the wind, air, earth, and storms ruled over them."

"These 6 Pantheons warred for over a century no side ever getting the upper hand. Kronos having grown tired of this stalemate called for a secret meeting with Set, Indra, and Enlil to form an alliance of 'true gods'. Indra joined quickly always having detested the newer 'upstart gods' as he called them, and Enlil was easily convinced with Kronos' promise to share the lands and women of the conquered Pantheons between themselves. Only my lieutenant Set held out, he held no hatred for the newer gods, and did not believe in Kronos' promises, he warned Indra and Enlil not to trust in the crooked one's words and left the meeting."

"They would call Set a coward and a fool for not joining, and that is something they would later come to regret. Kronos would ask Enlil and Indra to lead his armies to the north telling them that he had set a trap for Odin and that he would attack the Aesir from the flank. In reality, Kronos had another target in mind, the home of the Sumerian gods, he knew he could not attack the Hindu heavens while the Trimurti still watch over it so he decided to attack his Enlil's seat of power instead which was only guarded by the ageing and weakening Anshur and Anu Enlil's grandfather and father. Kronos accompanied by his generals Atlas, Iapetus, and Hyperion, launched an attack on their lands destroying their seats of power and killing Anshur and Anu with his Scythe, a weapon capable of truly Killing the essence of gods."

"No one realised what Krono's attack truly meant till suddenly the earth started to shake and an aura of evil we had not felt for millennia started to seep into the world, Lucifer's aura. You see none of us knew what the 4 seals to Lucifer's prison actually were until Anshar's death, we learned that the Creator had placed the seals into 4 individuals who were present during the first war and Kronos killing Anshar destroyed the first one, loosening the hell prison just enough to allow Lucifer's aura back into the world and since then his aura gas been whispering and manipulating the descendants of Adam and Eve."

"Since we did not know who the other 3 individuals with the seals were, we could not risk for this useless war to continue so myself and the Trimurti called for a meeting between all of the leaders of every Pantheon of gods on earth to convene at the heart of the universe, before the Creator himself, we told Kronos of what his actions truly had done and even he showed signs of fear having heard of Lucifer's power from his mother. I asked for all those in attendance to swear an oath of inter-Pantheon peace to stay out of each other's affairs, most agreed quickly tired of the destruction the war had done on the planet but some were less than pleased like Odin, who still felt the need to prove himself."

"With the swearing of that oath, the war came to an end, everyone returned to their homelands to deal and rebuild, everyone except Enlil, so saddened by his father and grandfather's deaths he went into a millennia-long state of depression, not speaking to anyone leaving his kingdom without a proper leader, the rest of the Sumerian gods would go into civil war all vying for Enlil's throne killing each other until nothing was left of their pantheon eventually they lost soo much power until all but Enlil faded from existence. To this day Enlil remains huddled up somewhere in the world still reliving the deaths of his father and grandfather."

"Your father's war was a dangerous and foolish endeavour, caused solely because of ego and pride, I want you to remember this young one most children inherit at least of their divine parent's fatal flaws, Kronos was prideful, arrogant, deceitful, and paranoid, you have surely inherited at the very least one of those flaws, but that does not mean you are destined to go down your father's path. All those flaws your father had can be good things for a king have, a king needs pride in not only himself but his people, he needs the arrogance to always convince his people that he is strong, he needs to be deceitful to be able to maneuver through political intrigue, and he needs so degree of paranoia to not blindly trust those who wish to destroy him. All these flaws are necessary but where Kronos went wrong is that he let his flaws take control of him, and a king can never lose control, I hope I can teach you this during your stay with me young Ílios. Now how about we get you some clothing can't have you staying naked forever now can we?" said Khnum laughing.
