|| Nishinoya Yuu x Reader ||

༺°•✮•°༻

Nishinoya Yuu was basically the Karasuno girls' source of entertainment with his "flirting skills", but along side Tanaka, the two were comedy gold. Whether it be cheesy pickup lines or bad but hilarious jokes, they always cheered people up no matter the

atmosphere. Of course, all jokes had to go bland at some point in time. This was the case with Nishinoya's hopeless flirting with you. It wasn't his fault that he got extremely flustered around you. Being in cheerleading gave you a rather toned body, so it's no

wonder Nishinoya always glanced at your legs before your face.

"Hey Y/N!" tripping over his own two feet, Nishinoya was going to tell you his daily joke for the thousandth time.

Obviously appearing not interested, you focused on your lunch more than Nishinoya's random rambling. His burst of somewhat annoying laughter made you grasp your juice box harder.

"Excuse me," you abruptly stood up and exited the classroom to escape to the bathroom like always.

Nishinoya sighed with another failed attempt at getting you to laugh. On the inside, he was becoming desperate to see that innocent smile of yours. He was tempted to use force to see it.

"Then he was like, pwah, swoosh, and pow!"

"No you dumbass it was swoosh, pow, pwah!"

Hinata and Kageyama were your better source of entertainment since they always had new stories to tell you. You had always seen them running with the volleyball team around the track at times when cheerleading was using the football field. During breaks, you would always hear the two bickering with each other. Despite having no idea what they were saying, it always made you giggle a bit. Hinata's quirky vocabulary combined with Kageyama's limited vocabulary to using "dumbass" always seemed to lift your spirits up more. Nishinoya's sub-par attempts to hit on you made you feel like a joke yourself. As a result, you began to talk more to Hinata and Kageyama. Despite being a year older than them, you still enjoyed their company and jokes.

"What's wet, black, and red?" Nishinoya was at it again with his "jokes".

"Not interested, sorry," you might've said that a bit too harshly as you walked out of the classroom again.

Nishinoya just smiled and spun around back in his desk without another word. You should've kept a lookout for others that day since Hinata and Kageyama weren't out running laps on the track. It's not like it mattered that day since you weren't in the

mood to talk to anyone really. It was because of several reasons, but the main reason is that practice ran later than usual since rain washed out the practice field. Finding a new place to practice was a pain since you had to prepare for an upcoming tournament, so you really couldn't miss any days. Thankfully, volleyball practice ended early, so the team could use the gym instead of the auditorium. The rain was picking up steadily outside, and soon enough, it came down in sideways sheets. The coach sighed and told everyone to head back to the auditorium until the rain stopped. You sat right by the doors watching just in case anyone got caught out there.

Occasional flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder rattled the school building. The rain eventually let up enough for you to see the gym, so you dashed for the cover of the gym.

"Hello?" you said into the unexpected emptiness of the gym.

All the lights were off and the equipment was stored inside closets, so it seemed like the volleyball team left before the rain got worse. Something did seem off, so you prepared yourself to be pranked by Nishinoya. You carefully moved around in the gym making sure that it really was empty. All the windows were beginning to fog up from the rain, so you had to clear up a few just in case anyone was trying to find shelter outside. First walking to the back windows of the gym, you ignored the coldness of the glass and wiped away the fog. A peculiar black lump was by the hillside, but you shrugged it off as debris. Spinning on your heel, your heart sank as Nishinoya was right behind you by a few feet. Before scolding him on almost scaring you, you took notice to the random red dots on his arms. His eyes were clouded over with anger and lust. His mouth was twisted into a forced smile as his eyes remained fixated on yours. Then it hit you like a ton of bricks.

His joke from earlier, wasn't really a joke after all.
