2 Chapter 2

The streets were empty and void of life, allowing Assana a clear vision of the road ahead. Ahe tripped a couple times, making them slow down.

"Hurry!" Assana exclaimed while pulling Ahe along with her. He finally managed to catch up to her and began helping Assana, trying to find shelter.

An abandoned house managed to catch Ahe's attention and he forced Assana to stop. Pointing at the house, he looked at the girl beside him and nodded, silently telling her that they should quickly make their way towards the house and take cover.

A few minutes had passed, but the pressure was still there. It almost felt as if the world had turned against them.

"Ahe... what's happening?" Assana asks, knowing she wouldn't receive an answer. The things that were happening were indeed strange, and they both couldn't seem to wrap their heads around it. What was so dangerous that they were forced to seek shelter inside an abandoned building?

If it hadn't been for the fact that they went out to eat before this disaster had happened, they would've been extremely hungry, unable to think clearly. Ahe was too scared to take a peek through a window, but Assana was too curious to care. She slowly made her way to the window, but it was dirty and covered in dust, not helping her see at all.

However, she was able to see a blurry figure of a person kneeling on the ground. The person seemed to be staring at the sky while stretching his arms upwards, as if accepting something. A small and almost unnoticeable gasp escape past Assana's lips, catching Ahe's attention.

"What do you see?" He asked and furrowed his eyebrows, trying his best to see what was happening outside. Confusion began growing deep within Ahe as he couldn't comprehend what was going on outside.

He turned to look at Assana who was still staring at the person outside, "Should we go outside?" This question managed to capture her attention as she quickly turned her head, an unsure look plastered on her face.

"Ahe, it isn't safe. What if something happens?"

"What if nothing happens? This could be fake for all we know."

Rolling his eyes, Ahe made his way towards the door. Assana didn't want to look, so she turned away and hid in a dark corner of the room.

Nothing seemed out of the ordinary outside. The person outside was long gone and Ahe was the only person outside. He looked both ways and took a few cautious steps outside. "Nothing's wrong..." he whispered to himself, trying to calm his racing heart.

Everything felt normal except for one, small thing. There was a huge amount of pressure and it was forcing him to the ground. Ahe tried holding his ground against this unknown force, however, the pressure got too intense, making him fall to the ground quite harshly.

Assana gasped, feeling worried for her friend. She still couldn't step outside the house even if she wanted to. There was something holding her back, not letting her move. The only thing she was able to do was stare at Ahe as he began struggling, trying to break free.

A strange, white mist began flowing around Ahe, surrounding him completely. His eyes turned white and the mist began forcing itself inside of him. A tear escaped his eye as a he wore a hopeful face while looking at Assana. He stretched his arms out in the air and looked at the sky, completely accepting this mist. Information began appearing inside his mind, but it everything disappeared quickly, not allowing him to absorb anything.

At this point, Assana was extremely worried. When Ahe closed his eyes and lost his consciousness, she was able to move. She quickly moved over towards him and began to carry him.

Carrying him proved to be quite difficult since she wasn't that strong, but she still managed to get him inside the house. Assana had carefully placed Ahe far away from the door. Walking back outside, she tried to see what was the thing that attacked him.

Just like before, a white mist appeared and began surrounding Assana. She tried to run back inside, but a strong gust of wind shut the door and forced her to the ground.

The white mist surrounded Assana. The only things she could see was the mist, the only thing she could think about was how magnificent and marvelous this mist was.

Her eyes opened up ever so slightly as she remembered that this was what had happened to Ahe. He wasn't able to fight it, but maybe she can. Closing her eyes tightly, she struggled against the force that was holding her down. Assana used all of her willpower and mental strength, but it was still no use.

She collapsed and let the mist do what it wanted to do. Her mind filled up with dread as she thought about what will happen to her. However, once the mist completely surrounded her, her thoughts changed entirely.

She wanted to be one with the mist. It will save her entire being and will liberate her from any impurities. Her body began accepting this mist, absorbing it.

In the distance, she could hear her name being called. However, in this precise moment, she didn't care. The mist had taken complete control over her, and she didn't seem to mind it that much.

Ahe had woken up too late. Assana had already accepted this mist and it was already entering her body. Disappointment filled his entire being. He knew that she went outside to save him and sacrificed herself, yet he wasn't able to protect his best friend. Assana had already become one with the mist.
