"Freya...."

William looked at the defenseless back of the goddesses with authority over love as a single thought comes to his mind.

'Should I kill her'

Knowing her perverted personality, Who knows what kind of troubles he may have to go through because of her, Just because of her enjoyment nonetheless.

But William let go of his thought when he remembered all of the lvl5 and lvl6 that Freya's familia might have and even if she doesn't there is still that monster of a man, the only lvl7 in Orario as her subordinate.

'Ottar'

All of the intention of killing Freya vanishes from William's mind when he remembers Ottar.

William dosen't even have a way to deal with a lvl4 much less a lvl 7.

William's skill [Cold blooded] made him immune to fear but that does not mean that he will go and actively seek his own death.

And so after giving one last look at Freya's receding figure, He turns around and start making his way towards his home.

'Lets see....'

William sat on his sofa while staring intently at a particular skill on his status plate.

*Basic elemental affinity-(I)

-Can use the four basic elements Wind,Fire,Water and Earth.

'So can I use magic now?'

William thought in his mind as he looked at the description of the skill.

In fact William has been able to sense the peculiar feeling from his body ever since he upgraded to lvl2.

Perhaps it was because of his increasing magic stat, but with each status update the peculiar feeling grew.

William named this peculiar feeling as 'Mana' just like any other fictional novel would.

Now there are two types of mana that William has sensed.

One is the one inside his body.

And the second one is the one present in the air.

Let's not mention the mana present in the atmosphere as it just dosen't respond to William's will at all.

It is like air but even lighter, You cannot feel it with your sense of touch, But you just know that it is present everywhere around you.

As for the one inside his body.

The magic inside of his body moved with his command but it wasn't able to do anything else.

Enhance your physical ability with mana? How the hell do I do that? Let's not mention the fact that I never liked biology as a subject and that I don't know that much about the human body but seriously how am I suppose to use something which dosen't have any physical property to change my physical body?

Yes the mana which William felt and tried to use before had no physical form.

But now.

With the skill [Basic elemental affinity] is feels different..

"Fire"

William said in a small voice while imagining what a flame would look like.

*Crackle*

A tiny flame the size of a finger nail appears right above William's palm.

William notices a small changed that happened in his body when he created the flame.

'The mana inside my body even if at a very slow pace , Is still decreasing.....'

'My physics teacher would have started doubting his life if he saw this scene of a fire being created out of thin air....'

William thought in his mind as he looked at the red coloured flame.

'Its a bit small though...'

An idea struck William's mind as he started to force more mana towards the flame.

*Crackle*

As expected the size of the flame grew from the size of a finger nail to the size of a baby's fist.

William moved his other hand and brought it closer to the fire.

A burning sensation came to William's hand as he hovered it above the flame.

After that William performed a series of tests on the flame.

And the result was surprising enough to give my physics teacher a heart attack....

1)The flame will keep burning as long as William provided it with mana also the flame will explode with it comes in contact with an object.

2)It's size can be adjusted by pouring more mana in the flame.

3)But the most impressive thing is that though the flame can be affected by its surroundings to a certain degree but the flame dosen't need a physical medium to burn.

What does the fact that this flame dosen't need a medium to burn with means?

It means that the flame dosen't need a carbon body to burn off of and neither does it require oxygen present in the air.

Perhaps mana itself has become the sole source of this flame.

So how is this of any use you might ask.

Well look at this...

William focused more mana towards the flame.

But this time there was no crackling sound.

In fact the colour of the flame was slowly being changed from the burning red to a stable blue.

The blue coloured flame was unlike the previous one.

It wasn't as aggressive as the red flame.

But it's temperature is way higher than the red.

William silently looked at the coloured flame as multiple thoughts passes through his mind.

The blue flame isn't something like the combination of fire and water.

A blue coloured flame is produced when the medium used for producing the flame is being combust in its entirety.

In this case mana is that medium.

The fact that a red coloured flame appeared when William wished for a flame can only mean that the medium is not being used completely.

In short some mana was being wasted.

And thus William tried to concentrate the mana on the flame and stopped the wastage.

It was a success, on the first try nonetheless.

William was a little surprised by how easy it actually was.

It was fortunate that there was not a single person with the mage class near William because if there was and if he was to hear William's inner thoughts then he would definitely start spewing out curses at William.

Easy?

You think it's easy to control mana?

Well it is definitely NOT.

It is very hard to control mana as you need a crystal clear mind without any unnecessary thoughts getting In your way whenever you are chanting a spell or not.

And controlling your own thoughts is not something which can be done in the first try.

You need years of practice to achieve that.

So how was William able to do it then?
