15 Trouble

"She is sleeping..." Caroline hugs me tightly and I'm too lazy to fight her.

"Sigh... What abilities that I can't use again?" My eyes are staring blankly at the sky outside from the window. Despite the blurriness, the sky is still looking pretty with the soft color of blue.

"Let's see..." taking a deep sigh, I count with my finger. "Good eyesight, Fake injuries, injuries protection, and Situation assessment.." they were very useful.

"Can I even see the map with this eyesight?" I frown. The glasses surely help but, it's not convenient most of the time. Also, It takes time to get used to wearing glasses.

"The map..." ' I see... that means, bad eyesight will not hinder me to look at the map. The familiar view appears in front of me. Just like before, everything can be seen clearly. My location, the distance, and direction.

"That's one problem down..."

I let out a sigh of relief. I was about to close the map... When I see the Red dot inside the map is getting nearer to the infirmary.

'What is Becca doing here?' I look at the clock hung on the wall. Squinting my eyes, I try to make out what number the arrow is pointing to. ' Ahh... it's already recessed. I stay in the infirmary that long huh...' I sigh.

Becca always goes to the infirmary during this time to see if anyone is sick and making sure no one is skipping class.'

After a few minutes of waiting, I hear her footsteps so, I close the map. But.. seems like she stopped at the door for a while. 'why is she not in yet?'

"What are you doing here?" Another voice speaks from outside the door.

Seems like the male lead is also here. I frown as I look at Caroline in my embrace.

"I'm here to see the junior that I sent after she accidentally hurt herself. What about you?"

"What a coincidence, me too."

After that .. there is silence.

.... That was awkward, I thought.

I look at Caroline again. "She is still sleeping..." And why does she hugs me tightly?

'Forget it... It doesn't matter... It's not like she's taking advantage of me.' I shrugged.

'I hope things will not get too complicated.' I sigh. ' There's a long way to go before the mission in this world is completed.

I come back to my sense when someone opens the door. Becca is the first one to come in and the male lead walk right behind her.

"Doctor.. sorry for disturbi- Huh? Avaline?" Becca is taken aback when she saw me.

"H..huh? Who shouted just now??" Caroline starts to open her eye. "Ava... How long did I sleep...?"

"Pretty long... It's already recess..."

"WHAT!!!" Caroline quickly pulls back the arm that's hugging me just now. She looks at the clock frantically while wiping her face with her palm.

"Oh no!!! I was supposed to meet the student council for an interview!!!! I'm late!!!" She hurriedly jumped from the bed.

"W-wait!!! Your leg- Owieee!!!!, "

"Lil Sis!!!!!"

Before she fell, I quickly hold her waist and pull her to my body.

"Uwahhhh!!! That was dangerous... Sorry, Ava- Wait!!" Her eyes are wide when she stares at me. "Did you call me Lil sis just now!!!??" Small smiles appear on her face.

!!! "Err that... " Yeah... why did I call her Lil sis just now?' My heart feels itchy just thinking about the reason that I don't even know yet.

Caroline nods at him and smiles. After that.. she looks down at her leg not even looking at Becca.

"You are here again, Becca?" Somehow I almost forgot that I'm still hugging Caroline. When her body shakes, I look at her then at Becca. Becca is also staring at Caroline.

"Do.. do you know each other Ava..." Just like a scared puppy... Caroline asked that question while looking down. Clearly, Caroline is still feeling guilty despite her lack of Common Sense.

"Ah yeah...She helped me when I accidentally fell from the stairs this morning." I can't help but pat Caroline's head a few times when she looks so nervous like this. " Poor girl... Were you scared because you accidentally hit her yesterday? Have you apologize yet??"

Becca just looks at me teasing Caroline. She doesn't seem to mind it that much.

I just laughed and keep patting her head but stopped abruptly when I realized that my action has become out of character. ' This is weird.. '

"That... Ava!!! So you are the girl who fell from the stairs this morning!!??".

She grabs my arm hurriedly as she turns her head and stares at my face with her eyes wide open. There is some tear in her eyes and her lips quiver.

"Yes-uff!!!??" It was very sudden when Caroline hugs me. "Ca...Caroline??" Her arms are wrapped around my necks tightly and I was almost choked by her.

"IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!" Her shouts shocked me. I even saw a glimpse of Becca and the male lead's expression.

"AVA... IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!! " Her shouts sound desperate, it feels like she is trying to stop me from murdering people. Becca looks at me and I look at her showing that I am also confused.

"SO WHAT IF WE ARE NOT AS RICH AS OTHER KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL!!! SO WHAT IF WE NEED BOW DOWN OUR HEAD EVERY TIME THEY TALK TO US TO DO THEIR ERRANDS... " Caroline shouts fill the while infirmary. "YOU SHOULDN'T STOOP SO LOW TO SEDUCE OTHERS... YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE SEX WITH WHATEVER PRINCE CHE IN THIS SCHOOL... YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE SEX WITH THE SCHOOL DOCTOR TOO... AS LONG AS WE HAVE EACH OTHER... WE CAN SUPPORT EACH OTHER... SO PLEASE...please...." Her voice is getting weaker.. and now only sobs taking over.

' This situation can be very heart touching... ' I took a very deep breath to calm my nerve.

I make out my best smile I could muster for the first time after I came to this world. A smile that doesn't reach my eyes, unfortunately. And with the softest voice as softest as the wind under a shady tree while the sun is shining brightly in the sky...

"Caroline~" I call her. Caroline raised her face and clear lines of tear can be seen with her red eyes that proved how she is really sad.

I smile at her and show her a line of teeth structures neatly in my mouth.

"What the fuck are you talking about~?" I wonder if my voice is not soft enough or my expression doesn't look kind... despite my best efforts (please note the sarcasm) Seems like Caroline is trembling badly under my embrace.

"I... I heard .." Caroline looks unsure. Her eyes keep wondering somewhere and don't meet me in the eyes. Her arms around my necks are finally loosen but her hands are now hanging on my shoulders.

"You heard what, Caroline~" Caroline looks guilty and her hands are squeezing my shoulders tightly, but not enough to cause me pain.

"I...heard some girls talking..." She bit her lips while looking down on her lap.

"Oh..? What did they say~? " My eyes darken as I rub her small face. There is still some tears stain so I help to wipe it gently.

" They said that you... purposely .." she lifts her face again and looks me in the eyes before looking down again. Her voice is weak but not too low so I can hear it.

"You purposely fell from the stairs to seduce a guy. He might be the most popular guy in school. Then... I saw you in a weird position with the female doctor when I saw you this morning... So, I thought— before she finishes her sentence, I pinch her chin gently and lift her face.

"Firstly ..." I stroke Caroline's face slowly.

"The first one is just a rumor" I smiled. " I don't have any thoughts of seducing others. I fell because I accidentally lost my footing. There's no hidden meaning" After I said that, I look at the male leads face and sees him frown.

"Secondly..." I return my attention to Caroline again. Because I was still sitting cross legs on the bed, Caroline is sitting on my lap.
