26 Her question

"I didn't see you, so I thought you weren't coming." Alice looks at me with a smile on her face but, it doesn't look friendly.

'At least to me.' I return her smile while nodding. 'I know how to judge a person. 'This girl is ruthless if she wants to.' She is sitting in front of me inside a private room in the library. No one can hear us here if they want to.

"I took a detour. I need to tell my friend and cancel our meeting." I lie with a smile on my face. 'I don't even want to meet you. You are not lucky my luck is just bad.' I complain in my head.

Private rooms inside the library are not easy to enter. People who can use this room are only those from the student council. Other people are those who receive invitations from the student council. Thinking that Alice took the time to use this room, I feel amazed. Because Alice is a careful person. She knows that I'm not ordinary.

She must have received information about me fighting the gangsters sent by Damian. The original Ava doesn't have any history of learning martial arts. 'Nothing…' I accidentally let out a chuckle before covering it with a cough.

My cough seems to be misunderstood by Alice because she suddenly looks at me with raised eyebrows for a second.

"Ah, did I make you uncomfortable?" There's no change in her expression when she asked.

If the person in front of her is the original Ava, she might pee in her pants now. It did happen in the original plotlines when she was forced to face Becca in the toilet. 'The embarrassment.' I cover my mouth with my palm while sighing. This action is also misunderstood by Alice. She believes this is a sign of me being embarrassed in front of her, which is not. I'm embarrassed by the original Ava's unfortunate event.

Alice let out a smile that looks like mocking to me. I choose to control my expression to not let her think I'm above her. 'Making opponent underestimate you is one of the best ways to attack them by surprises.

"Do you know why I want to talk to you?" She asked. Still not getting to the main points. But, I still follow her in her games by pretending to be a person "pretending to be confused."

(Author's note because I don't know if this can be conveyed really well; "MC can act like someone whose bad at pretending. In truth, she is so good at pretending to the points she can acts like she cannot.")

"I don't know." I shake my head while clasping both my palm together. "Why?" Then I asked her. My nervous act makes me receives Alice's satisfied expression. It was only a few seconds but, I get to catch her expression.

Alice knows that I can fight and is suspicious. But she doesn't know my motive and who I am working for. She thinks that I want to hide this as a secret. In truth, I want to make her believe I want to hide this as a secret.

[You are overcomplicating things. Not everything is this complicated. Just tell her some convincing made-up story and be done with it.] The ball mocked. [You are giving me a headache.]

'Hey! In war, things like this cannot be taken lightly! She might have some evil plans ready for me!'

[That's in war! THIS. ISN'T.A.WAR!"] The ball emphasized its statement. [You aren't even included in her revenge list. The more you act like this, the more you will get her attention. Do you want her to put you on her revenge list that bad!?]

'I…' I look at Alice dumbly. 'Hiss... the ball is right.'

"I want to ask you." Alice looks at me seriously.

"What's your relationship with Alex?'
