17 Running away?

*ding*

Lucas abruptly stopped and checked his phone.

His parents had sent him more money.

That's a lot... I guess I can eat decent meals now! ^-^

Well... that means... Dad knows.

Of course, he will know, pfft.

He opened up the DEW calling app which was famous currently to send a thank you to his parents.

While he was scrolling through the contacts lists which only consisted of 11 people, he saw an unread message.

His dad had sent it.

Assuming it was to inform he had sent money, Lucas began to type his thanks. But when he looked at the text, his heart warmed.

"Don't give up. Stay safe and true."

Lucas stopped typing and brought the phone close to his bewitching face.

He recorded an audio message and sent it.

"I will."

My parents. Parents who will love me and will support me forever.

The corners of his lips turned upwards as he began to walk.

------------

"Where's..."

"He ran away!" A man angrily looked around.

"I told him he can't!"

A woman replied.

"I tried breaking the things he brought to stop him, but he wouldn't budge!"

The man's veins began to appear on his neck.

"You didn't properly educate him! Otherwise, why would he go towards that disgusting industry?"

"He enrolled in a dance school, participated in singing workshops! You should have known that was too much!"

"What are you saying! We moved recently and he wanted to do a lot of things! So I allowed him, YOU gave HIM consent!"

"Well, he will have a language barrier!"

While saying that he took a bunch of letters and tore them furiously.

"What's the point if 13 agencies scout you and you don't even know the language properly! He's going to fail, he'll come back and I won't allow him to enter our house."

The man felt hypocrisy bubble in his heart. I gave him consent!

The truth was, he was afraid that his son will experience something bad and get a terrible reputation.

An idol, any time they'll lose popularity. Sometimes they can never achieve popularity too. Even if they do, one day they'll be seen as the past and will be forgotten by everyone. [1]

It's better to live as a white-collar with a good salary!

But he won't take action, let him suffer.

A child will constantly play with fire even if you scold him.

But, once they touch it, they'll never do it again.

[1] This might be confusing for skim and scan readers, a white-collar normal worker will never be remembered too right? But the point is when the idols get older, people will forget about them and they won't get job opportunities (Stage time, Popularity boosts etc), since they devoted their lives as idols, of course, they won't have work experience or anything. So all they can do is sit at home. His father was dreading this fact.
