3 Not now.

"I told you, it's your wish on whatever you want to do. No matter what you do, your mother and I will support you."

His father paused for a very long time. Lucas looked up, his face in disbelief.

It's a success...?

But what he heard next, shattered all his hopes.

"But, you can't rush in. You're just 17. Finish school, get a degree and then go towards the showbiz industry. It's safer like that Luke."

Lucas froze. It took him several seconds to comprehend the meaning behind those words.

Tears fell out of his eyes.

It wasn't supposed to be this emotional. In fact, I'm crying for no reason.

What he tells is right, sometimes popularity might fail.

Lucas's father sighed and looked at him. He understood, yet did not understand. People say it's better to start young in the industry to have several years back you up, but isn't it totally fine if they joined years later? But he felt like his son misunderstood.

He knew, his son wanted to tell this to them ever since he was very young. He knew. He knew all the things his son did in secret, but he waited. He waited for Lucas to come and tell it to himself.

He started uploading videos of him dancing with a mask 3 years ago.

Two years ago, he started singing by using the old microphone in the garage.

A year ago, he achieved mild-popularity and started to participate in school competitions.

It was obvious, yet not. Since Lucas's grades were good and he had good teachers who guided him, no one felt that he was aiming for the entertainment industry. Several teachers of his thought he wanted to be high-class white-collar.

Even his mother did. But not his father. He was silently watching him. Silently waiting for his son to speak his heart out.

Lucas stopped crying, his mouth opened.

"Dad-"

"Lucas, your father only wants good for you. Several idols and actors all began when they were 23 or so. They are still basking in popularity, aren't they? Please, Lucas accept this once request of mine."
