[An odd entity and a Flaming Ring... in the center of my chest??] (3/?)

I went to check out some fanfics on this site to get an idea, and I was quite surprised.

I was only reading a few 'fixed' fanfics without looking for new ones here and there, and now that I've gone looking for new ones, I've found that... most fanfic chapters barely reach 1,300 words.

I must confess, I was quite disappointed. But maybe that's the preferred format? Or am I interpreting/doing something wrong? (•⤙•)

Well, I still found some very interesting and good fanfics, so I'm quite satisfied with the search. I genuinely hope that someday I can write as well and enjoyably as in these fanfics that I ended up finding~!

Here are some fanfics that I found and thought were incredible, in case you're interested: 'Kaiju Maker in Another World', 'Fate/The Hunter and His Doll', 'Douluo Dalu 2: Heavenly Eyed Douluo', 'Honkai Star Rail: The Archiver', and 'Winds of Change(DxD)'.

I find it hard to believe that anyone doesn't know these fanfics, considering they're quite popular, but it doesn't hurt~ I really enjoyed them.

Now let's get to the chapter, I've procrastinated too much ( ︶︿︶)

[MINI-BOSS: Gaping Dragon - Lv 380]

[Threat Level: Menacing(Current)/Terrible(Potential{?})]

...

The Gaping Dragon lifted its body completely as it spread its arms, creating a huge imaginary pressure.

''Serie!'' Vesper's excited voice snapped Serie out of her state of terror, causing her to shake her head and assume a serious look.

''[Waldgose!]'' She quickly conjured a circle in front of her staff and summoned a wind tornado around the Gaping Dragon.

''KRRRRRRRRR'' The Gaping Dragon made a small noise as its countless teeth ground against each other before the wings on its back flapped, tearing the tornado in half.

''!!'' Serie's eyes widened in shock at the scene; she hadn't expected the monster to be this strong.

''Right...!'' Vesper's voice echoed through the completely white hall as he appeared on top of the Gaping Dragon's head, wielding a strangely shaped war hammer made of Spiral Energy.

The war hammer descended and struck the Gaping Dragon's head at tremendous speed, resulting in a powerful collision.

''KRAAAAAAAA'' A deafening roar echoed from the Gaping Dragon as its four legs wobbled, as if it were dizzy.

''Incredible...'' Serie observed fascinated by the physical strength Vesper had displayed, she was quite distracted due to the successive states she had been put into (Fear->Terror->Surprise).

''A little help here, please?!-'' Vesper shouted as he fell from the air before his voice was abruptly cut off, the Gaping Dragon's tail striking his body at tremendous speed.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Vesper's body shot like a projectile and hit the limit of the White Room, causing a kind of 'dust explosion,' snapping Serie out of her distraction.

''Vesper!'' She shouted in concern before she began to clear her mind.

''[Catastravia]!'' A relatively large symbol appeared in front of the staff before a series of light beams emerged and bombarded the Gaping Dragon at absurd speed.

''KRRRRRRAAAA!'' The Gaping Dragon roared in fury as the small lights caused some damage to its body.

The Gaping Dragon's body ran in fury towards Serie, causing the White Room to tremble with every step the monstrous aberration took.

''!'' Serie's eyes widened in surprise as she saw the monster crossing the distance in a matter of moments.

[Spell: Physical Barrier] (Vesper)

A red barrier appeared around Serie, and moments later, the Gaping Dragon's body collided with the barrier, causing cracks to appear.

Vesper, who had been thrown away, seized this opportunity and quickly closed the distance between him and the Dragon, gripping his war hammer tightly before striking one of the Dragon's right legs.

The blow made an extremely loud noise as the Gaping Dragon leaned slightly to the side, with the struck leg failing to remain upright.

''And the next one..!'' Vesper didn't let the Gaping Dragon's gigantic body relax as he pulled back his war hammer before striking again at the monster, aiming at the other leg that was still standing.

The blow collided with the leg, causing it to fail just like the previous one, making the monster lose its balance completely and fall to the right side.

''[Judradjim]!'' A torrent of electricity surged towards the fallen Gaping Dragon, hitting its huge mouth that led into the creature's interior. The electricity hit the teeth and then spread through the exposed flesh, making it shake and start to thrash.

''Good job.'' Vesper commented as he moved towards the fallen Gaping Dragon, the best way to fight against such large monsters was to take advantage of the moments when they became 'defenseless,' after you obviously created those moments.

Vesper raised his war hammer above his head as he fell towards the thrashing Dragon on the ground, the war hammer began to increase in size until it reached 10 meters. A smile crossed Vesper's face before he brought the war hammer down with full force on what would be the Gaping Dragon's head.

SPLASH

A part of the White Room turned entirely red; the Gaping Dragon's head had been completely crushed.

''We did it-!'' As Serie was about to declare their victory, Vesper, who was on top of the Gaping Dragon, was launched towards the ceiling of the White Room by a purple jet.

''GAH!'' A sound of pain echoed where Vesper was thrown before he fell from the ceiling towards the ground.

''[Medrozobalt]-'' As Serie was about to cast a spell to strike the still-living Gaping Dragon, the Dragon's tail quickly crossed the air and struck Vesper who was falling, sending him flying towards Serie at high speed, colliding with her.

Both bodies collided and rolled on the ground, both quite injured. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Serie was more injured than Vesper; her body was not made to withstand such strong blows and impacts.

''Kgh...!'' She groaned in pain as she held her stomach, blood dripping from her mouth.

''Tch...'' Vesper clicked his tongue as he got up, using the war hammer that had shrunk as support.

''Focus on recovering, I'll try to deal with him for now.'' Vesper glanced at Serie for a moment, taking advantage of the fact that the Gaping Dragon was still trying to get up.

''But-''

''No 'buts,' your body isn't as resilient as mine.'' A serious look crossed Vesper's face as he stared at Serie, who seemed to want to argue, causing her to sigh and nod.

''...Be careful.'' She murmured in a low voice as she closed her eyes.

''Hm.'' Vesper nodded in confirmation.

[Spell: Heal]

[Spell: Physical Barrier]

[Spell: Magic Barrier]

In an instant, Vesper conjured three types of Support Magic towards Serie, focusing on protecting her during the combat.

...

...

...

"Do all monsters with Danger Level 5 (Terrible) survive fatal blows? Or was that not really this thing's head?" Vesper pondered as he watched the figure of the Gaping Dragon slowly rising.

In normal circumstances, he would be taking advantage of this situation to strike and crush the dragon in every possible way, but this situation was anything but normal. The monster had used a new type of attack, that purple jet, and it could have even more dangerous tricks up its sleeve.

"That purple jet was three times stronger than a tail swipe from him."

There was only one reason why Vesper's appearance seemed so 'fine.' And that was his active Ability: [Cycle].

Unconsciously sensing immense danger, Vesper ended up activating this Ability at his [Peak] condition, causing whenever Vesper's Body 'ended' the [Peak] state, a new one to be generated. In simpler terms, Vesper's condition was currently in an infinite loop of 'peak.'

"As long as I have Spiral Energy for it or that monster doesn't use any ridiculous attacks, I should be able to maintain this specific Cycle." Vesper thought seriously as he watched the Gaping Dragon finish getting up, gripping tightly the War Hammer in his hands.

[Fate Theft: Activated.]

[Option selected: 1st Form -> Theft by Death]

[Extreme Benefits activated.]

Vesper felt his blood pump in a much more intense way as smaller platinum windows appeared around his vision, avoiding obscuring the Figure of the Gaping Dragon that was beginning to move.

"Phew..." He let out a deep sigh as the spirals in his eyes began to intensify, spinning at a faster pace.

[Eyes of Fate: Activated.]

From the mouth of the Gaping Dragon, a Purple Jet was launched and rapidly advanced towards Vesper.

Vesper's legs tensed for a moment before a huge amount of force was put in, causing him to shoot forward at high speed towards the Purple Jet.

[Distort: Activated.]

A spiral was generated in front of the Purple Jet which was quickly distorted as Vesper passed through it, ignoring it. Just the aura around the Jet was enough to alert Vesper's senses, even if he was just passing by.

The Distance between the two of almost 100 meters was quickly crossed, causing the War Hammer to slowly increase in size until it reached 5 meters. When the 5 meters were fully grown, Vesper had gotten close enough to deliver a blow, and so he did.

"Again..!" A distortion occurred at the tip of the War Hammer before a strong collision between the War Hammer and the leg of the Gaping Dragon happened.

"Wait... leg?!" Upon realizing a crucial detail, Vesper's eyes widened as the War Hammer collided with the Leg that shouldn't exist anymore. The Distortion at the tip of the War Hammer was enough for the Leg to be once again completely erased.

But unlike Before, the Hammer didn't stop there; Vesper tensed all his muscles and forced the Blow to continue, causing veins to appear around his Arm as a sign of the enormous tension placed on his limbs, alongside the amount of force being used. The Base of the Hammer slowly extended and quickly reached the other front leg of the Gaping Dragon, erasing it too.

And so, in a few moments, a large amount of blood splattered, a sign that these legs were indeed erased.

"KRIIIIIIIII" The Gaping Dragon made some deafening noise before its body rose, with its wings flapping. With each Wing beat, a huge gust was generated from beyond; it was as if its wings were personifying Hurricanes with each beat.

The wind was so strong that small cuts began to appear around Vesper.

"☞︎✌︎☹︎☹︎!''(FALL!)

Vesper's voice suddenly changed as he commanded something; the Gaping Dragon instinctively knew that it wasn't speaking to him; it seemed to be addressing something superior, much superior.

And all of this was proven true when the Gaping Dragon felt immense pressure around its own body, causing its wings to no longer be able to lift it, throwing it straight to the ground.

[Distort: Activated]

The War Hammer became completely distorted as its size grew, and in a few moments, the Hammer moved towards the falling Gaping Dragon before hitting it with full force in the lower part of its body: in the belly region.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

A huge collision noise occurred before the Gaping Dragon's lower region disappeared completely. A large amount of blood spread throughout the white room, painting all areas; it was raining blood.

[Eternal Spiral has been activated with the death of the Gaping Dragon.]

[A characteristic of the Gaping Dragon will be absorbed.]

[The Gaping Dragon has been killed, and its tail destroyed.]

[A new Weapon has been generated with the destruction of the Gaping Dragon's tail.]

[A huge amount of experience has been generated with the death of the Gaping Dragon.]

[Experience will be doubled due to the passive effect of the base Mission.]

[A strange Entity stares at Veserithorn.]

[A Ring of Flames is offered to Veserithorn.]

[The Spiral stares at Veserithorn with concern.]

[The Spiral says that if Veserithorn wants, she can handle this Ring of Flames for him.]

[The strange Entity trembles slightly.]

...

(after more than three hundred threatening messages...)

[The Entity finishes explaining. The Spiral accepts the explanation.]

[The Dungeon began to generate rewards after the Mini-Boss's completion.]

END

-----

The Gaping Dragon would be MUCH stronger if it were at its maximum potential, but it wasn't.

Unlike the [Small World], creatures are not yet at their maximum potential. For a better example, this Gaping Dragon is like its 'First Run' version, while the 'Terrible' potential is the New Game+ 10 and up version. Even though at a certain point bosses stop getting stronger... but anyway, you get it!

I ended up using all of Vesper's Abilities, and the ones I ignored (the SPELLS) were due to their low level. They wouldn't do anything against the Gaping Dragon.

Vesper already has the Bow Maximized while his War Hammer Mastery is far from being maximized, so he will focus on using the War Hammer for now.

...

The 'strange Entity' is powerful and ancient. As I said, at the beginning of time, there are MANY extremely powerful beings, so it's common for them to be able to interfere and interact with Vesper's System in this way.

But for further clarification: They CANNOT manipulate Vesper's System or harm him, for two reasons: 1 - Vesper's Veserithorn race prevents the System from being altered. 2 - The [Spiral] will deal with anyone who tries to force Vesper to do something. It's like he has his own 'Plot Armor,' or rather, two 'yanderes' protecting him (even though the Veserithorn race is not a literal consciousness).

The only reason entities can interact with Vesper's System is that the Veserithorn race has not been fully awakened, being at 1/5 of its Potential. In the future, when Vesper is evolved, no one will be able to interact with him through the System unless he allows it.
