12 CHAPTER 12

[A/N: I had some free time, so I decided to write this as my Christmas gift to you all, I hope you enjoy it, and please, do remember to tell me what you guys are thinking of the story so far, your feedback is precious after all.]

Tetsuya couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was expecting Issei to be reincarnated as a devil since it was part of the original, and he did have the 'twice critical' as in the original, but...

What was that about him? Did she truly said that!?

"Is there anything you want to ask? Tetsuya-Kun." Rias hugged him from behind, Issei sent him a jealous glance, but he was still too excited with the prospect of being a devil.

"I... What do you mean by I'm not a devil? Didn't you said that evil pieces would reincarnate a person as a devil?" Rias's eyes lost focus for a moment as she used his shoulder to support her head. Memories of the day she saved him came to her mind.

...

"Oni-San, what are you talking about, I clearly used one of my evil pieces on him, I can even feel the contract worked, he is indeed part of my peerage."

Sirzechs scratched the back of his neck. "Rias, I'm afraid that's indeed the truth. The piece you used was mutated, Ajuka himself already explained that to us. This human you tried to reincarnate as one of our own is different than anything we have ever seen. His body, soul, and this power are all foreign, in fact, I'm even inclined to believe that he did reincarnate as something else, but not as a devil, rather you could even call him a human 2.0 if it helps."

"But, what about the future, what is he for us if still won't be a devil, nor a hybrid?"

Sirzechs smiled. "Ah, the youth, could it be that my little sister is finally about to let go of her brother? Could her heart have been stolen by this human!? What could thou have seen that somehow managed to attract thy heart?"

"Very funny." Rias gave him a cold look and shook her head.

"Sigh... well, I can give him some sort of honorary title if you want? The first honorary devil, haha!" Sirzechs couldn't help but laugh after hearing his own words, well, she would have to go with that.

"Then, if he is a human 2.0, what changes happened to him exactly?"

"I think it basically increased his potential as a human, I call feel a divine power coming from him, but he doesn't seem to be the source of it, considering everything, he might heal faster than most humans, he also might have a longer life-span, but by how much, I'm not sure, it could be just a year as it could be basically forever, there is no way to measure this... Other than that, he will have to discover his capabilities on his own. Who knows, since the mutation happened with an evil piece he might even be able to do magic just like we do." He shrugged and stood up. "I'll be going now, take care Rias."

Rias just watched as he left on a magic circle. On the sofa where Sirzechs had been sitting on, a letter written by Ajuka with all his theories about the situation was left behind, she took it and decided to read it, for now, all she knew was that things were really weird.

...

Tetsuya sighed, all this was too weird for him, just what could have happened? Was that the gift the god promised to him? If so, why does it seem like there is more to it as if he actually gave him a mystery to solve instead of a gift.

Shaking his head, he thought on the events that Rias described to him, the box with ancient greek words, the armor, the aura... It reminded him of Saint Seiya, but he couldn't understand how he could have a cloth, besides, he didn't even know which one he had, nor where it was...

"Are you sure the box disappeared on its own?"

"Well, it didn't 'disappeared' it felt more like it transformed in pure energy and entered your body? Perhaps it is in a dormant state or something similar, just like a sacred gear before awakening."

Sigh... Tetsuya, lowered his head. In the end he had more questions than answers.

"So what are we supposed to do now? I mean, your job is to kill people or something?" Issei asked, concerned over his future.

"Well, this we can explain later, as you won't be doing any work at the moment." Rias let go of Tetsuya and sat down on the table in front of them.

"Please, come here after classes are over, I will explain the situation better at that moment."

They nodded and soon left the club, it looked like they would have a lot of work waiting for them in the future.

Specially Tetsuya, his mind couldn't even focus on anything other than what he heard today. At this point he was starting to believe that there was something more to his reincarnation, he wasn't even sure if the choice to come here was truly his, for all he knew, he might have been influenced to take this decision, or rather, something inside of him did that.

The flash of another memory played on his mind for a second, and then disappeared. Holding his head he frowned and kept walking, if this shit continued he would have to ask for someone's assistance because he was pretty sure those sudden memories appearing out of nowhere might affect his capability to fight.
