1 chapter 1: sleep in

It was a cloudy winter eavening the sky was a deep beautiful shade a orange and the soft sound of Pidgy and other bird pokemon crowing and chirping was every where, the air was chilly and under a tree in the front yard of his house in pallet town sat Quinn Lycan, a smart young lad at the age of 11 he loved to sit there under that tree every afternoon and read book after book all of them on the same subject; pokémon.

Quinn loved pokemon, while most people regarded them as partners or friends he felt that they were more than that they were his family, so he sat there under the tree with his sisters Gardevoir, who had acted as something akin to a mother to him after his real mother died in hospital after being diagnosed with cancer when he was only 2 after that she had been there for him and his sister making shore that they were safe and like how Quinn and Rose saw gardevoir as something like there mother/protector she had feelings of motherly affection towards the kids they were her family and they treated her like so reading a book about how to care for the unique needs of electric type pokémon when suddenly the voise of his older sister called out for him "Quinn, Gardevoir time for dinner!" Quinn was jolted back to the real word by his sisters voice "coming Rose" he yelled to his sister, he turned his head to his sisters Gardevoir who was already starting to stand up "let's go Gardevoir we shouldn't keep rose waiting" she extended her hand to Quinn to help him up took he gave her a soft smile "come on let me help you up" her inner voice sounded out inside of his head as he took her hand and she returned it in kind with her own kind and warm smile.

After making there way to the house they both walk in to find rose, a tall black wavy haired beautiful girl with fair skin she was dressed in brow cargo shorts and a loose fitting green tank-top and a Chansey, my sisters other pokemon that she found sick at the edge of town and nursed it back to health, serving dinner roasted potatoes with sour cream rice and lamb (for the sake of convenience the food in this world is the same in real life so don't ask questions) Quinn took a deep sniff the aroma of his sisters cooking was amazing after there mom died she had just turned 16 and was forced to take two part time jobs to pay for the bills along with food for her Quinn, Chansey and Gardevoir but with Gardevoir looking after Quinn Chansey looking after the house and there Aunt Barbra sending them some money every month they got by and lived a comfortable life all while learning to cook great food.

"Dinner smells amazing Rose" Quinn said as he sat down and started to dig in "well I hope you injoy it because you know what tomorrow is don't you?" at this point she, Chansey and Gardevoir had both sat down at the table while also starting to eat the dinner "of course I do, tomorrow is the day I can choose my partner pokémon and go on my journey" every kid can get a pokémon from professor oak once they turn 11 years old, professor oak is a kind old man that studies pokémon behaviour and how they interact with humans, he and his grand kids live here in pallet town "so which pokémon are you choose?" asked Gardevoir.

He haven't given this much thought and by the look on Roses and chanseys faces they wanted to know ,there were three pokémon you could choose Bulbasaur( a grass type), Squirtle(a water type) and Charmander(a fire type) all had their strengths and all had their weaknesses but trying to choose one of them is hard most people try to pick one based on the overall attack power there final evolutions offered but he wanted to pick one because he like them but last week he made the choice to pick Bulbasaur because of three reasons:

1. most Bulbasaurs are calm and nice

2. they are really cute

3. and the flower one their back once they evolve smells really nice

"yeah I think I'm going to choose Bulbasaur" she smiled at me "that sounds like a good choice, are you excited?" this was a tuff question of course he was excited but then there was his family and his home he would miss them terribly and just thinking about it made him sad "of course, but what about you three I'll miss you" she looked at Gardevoir then back at him "well me and Gardevoir have been talking about this" now when she says talking they mean actual talking like some pokémon she can use telepathy to communicate with those she has a close bond with "I believe, and Gardevoir agrees, that she should go with you on your journey to act as sort of a guardian in case things get to... dramatic" Quinn was shocked he had no objections to her coming if that's what she wants, but Gardevoir was Roses pokémon and they had a very close bond taking them away from each other would make him feel weird they were more like sisters than pokémon and trainer "but as I would only be with you to protect you I would only battle if it was unavoidable and as ai would not be one of your pokémon you could still carry around six others, so what do you say" he sat there is silence for quite some time trying to make up his mind, he tried to way the pros and cons; the pros were that he would get to stay with Gardevoir, who was like a mother to him and practically raised him along with Rose, and if things got bad he would have the help of one of the most powerful pokemon he knew, but the cons were... well he couldn't think of any "ok, you can come with me Gardevoir" he gave a happy smile to Rose, Gardevoir and Chansey and returned to eating his dinner.

After dinner Quinn had a bath and went to bed, he had a dream about climbing a mountain, every step he took the weight he felt on his shoulders increased by the time he reached the near top his legs gave out and he closed his eyes expecting to fall but he didn't, he slowly opened his eyes and there in front of him Gardevoir stood holding hand keeping him from falling and with her help he reached the summit, the view was beautiful in was indescribable.

He woke up soon after that he sat up and looked out the wind the sun was bright and there were no clouds in the sky he looked over to his alarm clock, and the colour drained from his face as he read the time it was 10:30 am; he had slept in and ignored his alarm.
