Joining Fairy Tail

Yasu was listening to Gray, who was commenting on the fight until he heard an unexpected question.

"Do you want to join Fairy Tail ?"

They had just met for less than one day so Yasu couldn't understand why Gray would invite him to the guild. Yes, he helped him by healing his injury, but it shouldn't be the reason for that. So Yasu tilted his head sideways in confusion as he asked, "Why are you inviting me ?"

Gray just laughed amusingly in response. If it was anyone else, they would happily accept without a second thought. After all, who wouldn't want to join a prestigious guild like Fairy Tail? Gray was even more sure about his decision. At first, he initially thought that Yasu was a cold and emotionless person. But Gray changed his mind the moment Yasu shed tears for him. Gray knew that on the inside, he was just a kind boy.

"Well, It's simple. I think you are a very unique guy. You also seem like a good person and have powerful magic."

After thinking for a while, Yasu responded, "I see...Please take care of me from now on."

He didn't think of himself as "kind" and neither "interesting". But as Yasu had planned to join the guild, he still accepted the offer nevertheless.

"Then I'll be waiting. Prepare your stuff, you'll be moving out."

Slowly shaking his head, Yasu said "I don't have anything important there. Let's go."

His Asauchi was already in his dimensional inventory. He didn't feel bad leaving the cavern even though he had lived there for the last 8 months.

"Hehe...Come then, I'll show you the way."

Gray then turned around, hands in his pockets, and walked away. Followed closely by Yasu.

———

Fairy Tail's guild was situated in Magnolia. The city possessed a large built‐up area. Splitting the town vertically and horizontally were a series of large roads. The whole place was western in style, with its buildings being mildly reminiscent of neat Medieval.

While walking behind Gray, Yasu was curiously watching the town. He had lived in the jungle for months. This was his first time seeing a city in this world. There was a calm atmosphere in the street. He could even see someone driving a caravan with a black bull.

Gray couldn't help but ask, "Is this your first time in a city ?"

Yasu looked like a country bumpkin. He had caught many people's attention with how he curiously looked at everything and his left to be desired attire. Yasu didn't care much about how people looked at him. He was already used to it, so he calmly answered, "Indeed, this is my first time entering a city."

Gray just sighed while saying, "I wonder how you have lived your life so far..."

.

.

At the door, Yasu could see that the inside was similar to a large lunch hall and mainly consisted of wood, possessing a parquet floor and a mezzanine held up by wood beams overlooking it. Several long benches and the related tables stretched across its length with a bar at the end. The request board was located beside the bar. Everyone was eating, drinking, and talking to each other happily. The hall was filled with laughter and joy of life.

("So this is Fairy Tail huh...")

This time, contrary to the anime, everything was in order. There wasn't a big fighting mess. As Yasu stepped into the guild, everyone turned their eyes in their direction, more specifically toward him.

"Yo!, Everyone, this guy is Yasu Gushiken! He is going to join the guild so take care of our new member !" Gray announced loudly.

Following this, everyone gave Yasu a welcoming speech. They were behaving in a friendly manner.

"Welcome to Fairy Tail, Yasu !"

"Yeah, welcome dude !"

"I wonder how strong he is..."

"For Gray to personally invite him, he should be pretty good..."

"..."

Then, interrupting everyone, a young woman with long and scarlet hair walked into the hall. Everyone seemed afraid of her. Yasu realized why everyone was trying to avoid looking for trouble with each other. Erza had a voluptuous figure. Her attire consisted of a blue skirt, black boots, and diamond-shaped silver earrings.

She walked confidently in their direction. A moment later, standing before Yasu, she said " How do you do? My name is Erza Scarlet. So you are the newcomer..."

"Nice to meet you, I am Yasu Gushiken...Umm... Sorry, I might offend you but I think that there is something weird with your right eye." Yasu remarked a little hesitantly. It just felt strange, he was sure that there was something off with it.

Hearing this, Erza raised her eyebrows in surprise as this was unexpected. She then took his hand and quickly dragged him away to a quiet alleyway. This action surprised many people, but nobody dared to offend the S-Class mage.

Arriving in a quiet place, Erza looked at him for dozens of seconds. Yasu was preparing himself if a fight broke down between them. Instead of attacking him, Erza just crossed her arms and asked him in a severe tone.

"How did you know?"

Yasu didn't know how to answer her question. But then, he remembered that with his Body Cultivation Technique, his five senses had become more acute. It felt so natural to him that he didn't think about it. This is why he easily noticed that her right eye was artificial.

"That's because I have great eyesight...I think I might be able to help in getting your eye back."

Again, Erza glared intensely at his cold eyes for several seconds before saying, "You know what will happen to you if it turned out that you were lying to me...I don't like false hope...Now tell me how you will do that."

Yasu just ignored her remark. If they were to fight each other, he knew that he would be able to fly away at the very least. Opening his shop, Yasu searched for a potion to help anyone regenerate a part of their body. It shouldn't be something challenging to restore a single eye. Looking through the seemingly endless list, he finally bought one costing 1000 points. A potion appeared in thin air which startled Erza.

"You have a Spatial Magic ?"

Yasu just put the potion on her hands and responded, "Kind of...Now, just drink that potion"

Erza didn't hesitate to drink it because she knew that Gray would never bring someone that would cause harm to the guild.
