10 Chapter 9

When Jane opened the door to a room made of white stone with pillars around it, and three chairs in the middle, they were symmetrical with the room. I also noticed a massive drain in the room; I will assume this is where they sometimes fed. There, the three who sat at the thrones women in the center didn't recognize her, but she had dark hair. I couldn't tell her height while she sat somewhere around 5'7. The man I identified as Marcus, definitely around 6 ft, black hair; he had a sadness that I could feel coming off of him; I could recognize it too well. The other woman has light hair color, around 5'4 ish, I would say. I didn't know which one was Athenodora or Suplicia; the Cullens never went into descriptions of them.

After I tried to figure out who was who, Jane went you to the woman in the middle she took Jane's hand, they stood there for a sec, she awed for a sec then Jane went back to the other guards, I took my guess and figured she was Suplicia because she is the one who took Aro's gift, I also saw the other teenager Carlisle had spoken up Mele was her name, she stayed near Suplicia. Suplicia gave Marcus and Athenodora a nod then their red blood eye was back on me. There was a loud silence in the room.

I cleared my throat to speak, "So if I am going to die, I have a note for Marcus from Carlisle to give." I said softly

Marcus nodded, and Jane grabbed the note from my hand, walked over to Marcus, and gave him the letter. Marcus read it because he opened it and handed it over to Suplicia. She stood up and walked over to me. I cringed a little when she handed her hand out, "May I ?" She asks

When she touched my hand, it felt different from the Cullens; her hand felt colder. She walked back to sit, "Why do you think we will kill you, Drakul? Are you not afraid of Death?"

That was a question I pondered for a few, "Death is a scary thought, of course, but when you have survived a vampire attack and been beaten by people in your town. You accept Death; when it is my time, I will greet Death as a friend, not an enemy."

I saw Athenodora smirk a little, "So how much did the Cullens tell you about our world." she said in a superior tone.

"They didn't tell me; they helped me fill in the gaps I was missing, but before I met them, I already knew."

I saw Marcus and Athenodora were in awe over this as Suplicia smiled. I figured she already knew what I would say since she read all my thoughts. Marcus composed himself, "How did you find out, young one?" he asked.

Suplicia interrupted him, "This boy possesses more intellect than any other human on earth." She looked back at me, "I figure after your first attack, you delve into the supernatural world."

I nodded and was amazed by her ability well, which was quickly ruined by Athenodora.

"What shall we do with him? He knows too much about us," she said as she started to walk toward me.

"STOP Athenodora!!" I heard Suplicia yell

Theodora and I looked towards her; she was up from her seat standing, looking angry; she sat back down, fixing her dress, then sat back down.

"This boy is special," she said, then turned to Jane. "And besides, we don't want to hurt Jane's mate; it would make her sad more," Suplicia said

I looked over to Jane, and she was nervously standing there looking at objects around the room; when our eyes met, I could feel what Carlisle had spoken of; I felt my eye couldn't turn away from her.

"Drakul... Drakul, are you listening?" I shook my head back into reality, then turned to the three; Athenodora had gone to sit back down.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Since you are Jane's mate, we won't harm you, but you will become one of us, you understand," Suplicia said

I nodded

"You may wait for the time you need, and you may take the time to untell you finish your theory," Suplicia said; I knew she looked interested in my theory I had for a while.

"Why don't we just turn him now, and what theory?" Athenodora said snarling

I looked at her, and Suplicia nodded, confirming she had seen everything. I explained everything to them, "No, even the Cullens know this. Only Edythe knows; I am already dying. I have a disease that stopped my growth in height and appearance; the excess energy needed to go somewhere, so it went to my brain. For the past year and a half, my brain has been growing in size, and I have gotten smarter. And if my guess is right, I have about two years left. My condition will get worse with headaches and migraines." I paused to catch my breath. "I would turn now, but I have a theory I am working on to get my legs back."

I could see this news saddened Jane, but I had already told myself if I couldn't save my legs by the end, I would keep myself. It would be fun being a vampire who can run.

Most of the guards had left, needing to be somewhere else. Only the king and the queens also stayed with Janes since she was my mate, mmh weird to think about too. We talked for a long time; I asked Marcus what the note said. He smiled at me and told me all it said was to hear me out. He also told me that he could feel me and Janes bond with one another.

-------------------------------

"Drakul, I am sorry to interrupt, but it is dinner for us. Jane will show you to your room," Marcus said softly.

"Can I watch?" I asked

This shocked them all, and I turned to Jane, who looked angry.

"No! Out of the question, what if one of us attacks you," she said very protectively

I reached into my bag and pulled out a bottle of pills, "I'll be safe; I have these pills. I'll stay in the corner; I just want to take notes. I am just curious."

They looked at the bottle of pills; Marcus grabbed them and examined them," What are these young one?"

I was happy someone took interest," Those are pills I made that when a human takes them, their scent they have disappears for a few hours, and it makes the smell of their blood smell repulsive to vampires."

Still looking over the bottle, Marcus handed it back, "You may, but we will need to witness you take them and two of them."

Jane was a little upset because of the whole thing; she grabbed me something to drink, took me over to the farthest corner, put my chair in park then went low to my ear, "I will protect you; you're mine." she then blows into my ear

I had goosebumps go down my entire body when she did that, I looked over to Marcus, and he was holding back a smirk. I quickly took the pills and grabbed my notebook.

(A/N) Sorry for taking so long to get his mate introduced. I had played for Jane for a while to be his mate since appearance-wise; they are around the same age. I could have used Mele, but there isn't much on here lore-wise, so Jane it is. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
