17 A different soft side

"Reaper 299?"

Yeon proclaimed and firmly came walking towards the door. Dae and Suho were standing all frozen to witness each other in an unexpected place.

"Uh, Reaper 999? Umm, what he is doing in your apartment?" Suho seemed very confused with the ongoing situation and shot a rapid question towards him.

"That's a long story, Suho. Well come inside," Dae welcomed him inside the house with a small simper.

Suho being baffled by the situation walked in with a clumsy pace. "I can't believe, a human is welcoming me inside Reaper 999's apartment. Things are really getting entertaining!" He wondered with a small grin.

Slowly all of them headed towards the living room and took their seats on the sofa. Suho took his seat on a sofa placed opposite to the couch where Dae and Yeon were sitting next to each other. As usual, Dae seemed quite jubilant and Yeon looked cold as ice. They looked to be two drastically different types of species.

Suho slightly glanced at the corner table where they had kept all the cutleries used from the morning breakfast. He smirked with the sight and peeked at Yeon.

"Were you guys having breakfast together?" He inquired.

Yeon seemed a bit flustered with the question and cleared his throat before answering him. "That's not important now. But tell me, what are you doing in my house this early morning?" He sounded cold.

Dae was sitting beside him clueless and kept looking glancing at both of them. Somehow, Suho appeared to him in a little teasing mode.

"I came here to discuss with you regarding some cases. But...I am surprised to see Dae here! Looks like, he has stayed overnight here! He is also wearing your favorite night suit which makes me even more surprised!" He continued.

"Woah! Relax, Suho." Dae finally chose to intervene between them and shifted his gaze towards him. "I just stayed overnight here because I was madly drunk. And to be honest I passed out. Yeon took me here and gave me a shelter without leaving me alone on the road."

Suho rolled his eyes in wonder and cryptically glanced at him before answering, "that's the part which is surprising the most! Reaper 999 has never allowed anyone in his apartment for an overnight stay and it's strictly forbidden. He hasn't even allowed me to stay here for a single day even though I am the closest colleague to him.

And... the fact that being a human, he has brought you in his home to stay overnight, is really shocking for me!" His voice seemed very dubious.

Dae flinched with his absurd revelation and stared at Yeon in wonder. He seemed to be anxious to hear the sudden confrontation from Suho and desperately tried to avoid eye contact with Dae.

"Then what if he hears that this mighty grim reaper had cuddled with me the whole night in his bed? Probably he will faint in shock!" He scrunched his eyebrows while thinking with a sigh.

Slowly, he peeked at Yeon once and he seemed to be stealing glances at Dae. As their eyes met, he immediately tried to divert his gaze from Dae which somehow pissed him a little.

"Hey, am I the first one to stay at your house overnight? Then... why did you bring me here?" He appeared quite curious.

"Then what should I have done? You puked on my coat and passed out, should I have left you to die alone on the streets? You should ask your friend that did he involve me with you?" Yeon sulked his face while answering him in a grumpy tone.

"Friend?" Instantly, Dae reminded of Kwan about whom he had completely forgotten till now. Quickly he gazed around himself and mumbled softly, "where is my phone? Kwan must have dialed me several times!" He appeared quite fretful.

"It's in the bedroom only beside your dry cleaned clothes. You can fresh up and change your clothes now." He promptly answered and shifted his eyes towards Suho.

"Wahh, he just sounded like a caring husband now... I can't believe it's actually the grim reaper 999 I knew before..." Suho was thinking with a sly smile on his cast and tried hard to hold back his laughter.

Dae was changing his night suit into his original clothes in his bedroom which was neatly dry cleaned by Yeon. Somehow, he had a small smile on his face while changing his attire as it was the first time, he discovered a warm side of that rude and cold pretentious grim reaper.

"He always tries hard to act all stern and frigid, but he has a soft version of himself too. I don't get it, why does he bother to hide that side from everyone." He was immersed in his thoughts with a small sigh.

In the meantime, he had turned on his phone which was probably switched off by Yeon when he took him home. Kwan must have been madly worried about him and with a frown face, he chose to call him instead.

[Phone ringing]

Kwan immediately picked up his call and replied to him instantly with a fretful pitch, "hello? Dae? Is it you? Where are you?"

"Hey calm down, don't be so scared." He tried to tone down his anxiety in an amicable tone.

"Where the f*ck are you? I have been trying to contact you since last night but your phone was turned off! I even went to your place but you were nowhere found! I was almost going crazy in fear!" Kwan shouted at him over the call.

"But you are the one who handed me to the grim reaper in my drunken state, you asshole!" Dae pouted his face as he seemed a bit offended with his action. "Anyway, I am all fine, and don't fret."

"Where are you? Just tell me the address, I will come to pick you up." He sounded quite concerned for him.

All of a sudden, Dae rolled his eyes mystically as he thought of an idea with his proposal. "Hey Kwan, you said earlier that you wanted to meet them right? Good, I am texting you the address. Hurry up." He smirked.
