If I was going to cause her pain by removing mine, I felt hesitant. I was the master but I could not hurt her.
"I don't want to hurt her," he voiced my hesitation. "Or could we plan to safe her?"
I looked at him hopefully, he was the king and if anyone would have faithful followers, it had to be him with how much he has done for them and his compassion.
"Is there anyone who could help us?" I asked him hopefully.
He frowned and asked, "What if you have to choose between hiding forever or returning to your cat?" He was very serious that I did not dare to give him a thoughtless answer.
"What do you mean," I asked when I could not fully comprehend what he meant by that.
"Just what you think. Either you remove the chip now and your cat has to suffer alone while you and I hide away for as long as we can or you begin a rescue mission and get caught in the end," he explained with a coldness I have never felt from him. It reminded me of death.
