The Grand Duke of a fantasy kingdom realizes two things: 1) he's a fictional villain in a novel, and 2) the protagonist is destined to kill him. The villain opts to totally avoid the protagonist and find a way to keep his power and status-- permanently. However, the villain's absence from the story causes unforeseen consequences for him, as the protagonist begins to take notice...
