I wiped the foggy mirror and ran the red towel through my medium-length light brown hair. After leaving the bathroom, I went into the same closet as Mason. His clothes were on the right, while mine on the left. I scanned around, and after a while, I find a matching outfit-brown designer shirt and pants with brown leather vans.

"Good afternoon." The chauffeur greeted me with a warm smile as I got nearer to the car. "Morning."

"And where will we be going today?" He opened the door for me, "Anywhere the road takes us."

"I guess I needn't ask that question anymore."

"I guess not. It'll always be the same." He entered and gripped the steering wheel in the driver's seat. "Though, today might be different. I heard about a new ice cream shop that opened last week. It's called Dairy Queen."

"Weren't you the one that said eating sweets in the morning leads to too much unneeded energy; and cavity?" His eyes playfully wandered in the rearview mirror. "That was a month ago. Why do you still remember that?"

"You wouldn't back down until I threw my cake away." He reminded. "And the next morning, I got you a peace offering, didn't I?"

"You did, a large chocolate fudge cake that took me a week to finish." we both laughed while the car's engine initiated. "But the real question is: did you like it better?"

"I did. By the way, what store did you get it from?"

"I actually made it myself; it took me a few hours." He gazed back again, surprised. "Well, I must say, you have a talent."

"Only if you could say that to my boyfriend. He seemed to have gotten tired of my regular breakfast, but I suppose it is time to change the menu." I gazed out the window, observing the blurring green trees. "It is good to try something new in a while."

"Perhaps changing my morning routine would be a start."

After a few minutes, the car pulled up in front of the newly opened building, and I quickly hopped out. Before waiting in the long line, I motioned for him to roll the window down. "You can go ahead. I will be taking a stroll afterward." He left, and I waited in line.

"What can I get for you?" A woman in a uniform with a blue-inked pen against a small notebook asked. "A vanilla fudge sundae."

"The size?"

"Medium." she wrote that down too.

"We have a buy one get one free deal. Would you also like to redeem that offer?"

"So I get an extra sundae?"

"Yup."

"Sure. I guess." I stepped to the side.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, and I took it out to see a call from Babe, aka Mason. I answered it and placed the phone up to my ear. "Hey." I greeted.

"Hey. What are you up to?"

"Well, I finally decided to make a change."

"A change?" His tone, surprised. "Yes. I'm at a new ice cream shop, even though I don't normally eat it or any other desserts this early in the morning." I elaborated.

"You call that little thing a change?" I imagined him grinning on the other side of the phone.

"At least I'm trying," I argued. "And I'm glad you are. You should enjoy life and not be scared of changes."

"You're right, and I'm also thinking of changing the breakfast menu."

"This is so unlike you. What did you do to my baby?" I chuckled, "I'll admit that I was also getting tired of it, okay? So the change is necessary."

"Anyway, how is your day going? Apart from the changes."

"It's going well, yours?"

"Same. My meeting with that Sally woman ended a short while ago." He sounded cheerful, so I figured that the meeting went well. However, I still wanted to be certain. "Really? And how about the deal?"

"Well, me and the crew are celebrating with a bottle of champagne."

"That's great, but don't tell me you're drinking."

"It's just one glass."

"You said the same thing last time, and it ended with way more than one glass." After what happened last night, I would've preferred him to stay away from alcohol or anything related. "I know, but it's different this time. You told me to have faith in you; now it's your turn."

"I do, I do." I do have faith in him, but that wouldn't stop him from relapsing. "Just be cautious."

"Order five-two-one." One of the employees called out, setting a bag containing two medium-filled cups on the counter."I have to go. I will see you later."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." The call ended, and I placed it back into my pocket while walking towards the counter. "Five-two-one?" she asked. I confirmed and strolled away with the bag of ice cream.

I continued down Lincoln street, which was bustling with car horns, revelers, and loud music. This town never slept nor obtained tiredness. I turned at the edge of the street and made my way onto Westview park-which was quiet and peaceful, despite its proximity. I took a seat on one of the benches that faced the pond.

The sun's rays reflected beautifully off the pond's surface ripples, and the breeze softly brushed against my facial skin. I sat back, watching in satisfaction as the cold-melting vanilla flavor mixed with the hot chocolate within my mouth. However, a fraction of my mind couldn't seize wandering back to Mason. I hoped he was alright, that he had been honest and only drank one glass.

I was relieved when he went sober a few months ago; it gave me hope that our love and relationship could be healed.

The tears were beginning to stream down my face, and I couldn't stop them. All I could do was let them flow and hope that our love was strong enough to survive this, especially now. I reached for my phone and called the one person who I knew would make my worries go away, even if it was just temporarily. "Benny?..."

"Jordy? Why do you sound like that?" He asked as concern seeped into his voice. "I need you... I don't think I can take it anymore."

"Jord, where are you?!" My mind was spinning in an endless cycle of what if, "Jordan, tell me where you are!"

"W-westView park."

"Ok, stay there. I'm on my way."
