5 Duel

Damn. Things really changed very quickly. I am still not aware of the abilities of this lady. What was her name again? Oh, it was Laur.

Since she is a fairy, I would assume that she can fly and has magic. I am thinking about how would I deal with an opponent that can do aerial combat.

Grano and Kirth approached me.

"Wreck, you should not fight with the Fairy. She is very strong! You cannot handle her. We can all just leave and find a new place to live."

I disagreed.

"I thank you for your concern but I think I will accept her challenge. I really don't want to find another location when we all have been living here in peace. Besides, I have my own plans."

I also thought about it. If that strong, I might as well as check out her skills. If I lose, then we can just leave. This is a good opportunity for me.

"Lady Laur, I accept your challenge"

Grano and his family moved away while their faces clearly indicate that they are worried about me. Lady Laur assumed her fighting stance.

"Are you really sure about this, Human?"

"Of course!" I said confidently.

"Since you already accepted it. You should know that this is a fight to the death. Older Beastman, please officiate the fight."

WHAT?!?! This is a deathmatch? Damn, I did not know that. Now what? I have no choice but to fight. Damn, I gotta focus or I am gonna die.

"START!!!"

As soon as Grano yelled I quickly pointed my Glaive at her. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that I am now using a glaive with the blade made out of stones colored red(going to be explored in the next chapters😃). I believe I am decent at using it. I have trained with it for almost a month now. I can defeat Grano and Kirth with my skills even when they are strong enough.

Laur dashed towards me and I used my favorite starting move which I call Dragon Jaw. Basically, it is a move that is good for a charging opponent because I use gravity to push the foe down to the ground. I was expecting her to dodge that which is why I used it as a feint for a piercing attack.

*BLADES CLASHING SFX*

I was surprised. Not only that she was able to withstand my attacks, but she was able to predict that I was going for a piercing move!

I stunned for a second which she used to go from the side. I used my reflexes to try to defend her attack but I was even more surprised.

She f*cking flew.

I was already expecting this but I was still caught off guard because I was focused on defending.

She flew at the top of me she dived swiftly towards my direction like a meteor. I was still kinda shocked but I quickly put up my guard to defend and we clashed.

*BLADES CLASHING SFX*

I placed all of my weight towards her in order to overpower my enemy then she used her brain and quickly retreated which made me fell.

I fell towards the ground and she quickly pointed her sword at my blade.

"Any last wishes young warrior?"

I had no choice but to use my final card.

I was so desperate that I screamed.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes. I used the same move I did with the Lion. I believe that it is a useful ability so I kinda trained it.

Everyone covered their ears. Even Lady Laur is affected by my voice. My voice echoed throughout the forest.

Everyone was stunned. They blanked out for about three seconds.

So this move is a paralysis move? Then why did the lion just kinda paused then ran away? I better train this skill later.

Anyways back to the fight. I used the opportunity to point my glaive towards the neck of Lady Laur.

When she came back she said.

"Fine, I surrender. You win."

Even though it was a deathmatch, I prefer not to kill anybody. If it was not for this skill, I would be long gone by now.

I helped her stand and I thanked her. The beastmen also thanked her.

"Since you have a capable leader, I will allow you to live in this area."

"Thank you so much, Madam!" Grano said

Capable Leader? I guess I am kind of a leader here. It was my idea to live here anyway. I better befriend Lady Laur, she will be a strong ally. If not for the scream, I would lose. She beats me in all aspects.

"By the way Human, what was your name again?"

"It is a Wreck."

"Wreck, you are a really capable fighter and leader. You have huge potential. Your future is really bright. You have skills. You also have the King's Roar. I sure believe you will be having a very interesting future ahead of you."

King's Roar? Was that the scream? I guess it is a really important ability. Is it related to the Special One? Damn, there is really a lot to process here.

"Thank you so much, Lady Laur!"

"Wait, just call me Laur"

"But that would be disrespecting you"

"Don't worry, I respect you. Besides, I think I am kinda liking you"

I blushed. Damn it is so nice to be said something nice from a beautiful lady, but I know it is not that romantic stuff.

"Okay then, I will now leave. By the way, since I trust you and your skills, I will be giving you gifts tomorrow."

Then she flew away.

Gifts? What would that be? I wondered all night about what to expect tomorrow. All the beast family did tonight was to praise me for my skills.

I was kinda proud of my performance even though I still have a lot of stuff to go. I will continue to train in order to protect my family from outsiders. Anyways good night since tomorrow is going to be a long day.
