13 Discovery

It has been a month since Laur and I were engaged. Laur has already moved into the village and we are currently living together in my house. The date of our wedding will be next month so we are doing preparations for that.

Many have changed after one month in the Crimson village. We have implemented many projects and plans. First of all, we have established the governing body of the village. It is called 'The Council'. The Leader is of course me with Laur as the second in command. The members are Kirth as the head of the security, Grano as the Head of Buildings and Infrastructures, and Laur is also assigned to the Logistics. The other members are the Race Leaders Craw the Salamander, Exel the Beastman, Wright the Dwarf, and Bubba the Harpy. We do our meeting once a week to discuss the affairs of the village. So far the Council has been going smoothly.

The next project that was realized was my idea of school. At first, the council was not on board with that idea but I convinced them the importance of having the ability to read, write, and calculate. They approved that idea and then I and Grano lead the construction for the School. The school will be located on the north side of the village near the meeting room. After the construction, we later name it 'The Crimson Academy' because there was no better idea for a name. The current teachers are me and Laur and we are having alternating shifts. The classes usually last half a day and we often do classes three to four times a week. I had all residents below the age of fifteen to attend the classes and adults are also allowed to take part if the classes if they want to learn. It was a really rocky start since we lack the equipment but Laur provided the papers and ink so right now it is going smoothly.

We also had a new resident. The Crimson Beast aka the King of this forest has settled in this village specifically at the roof of my house. The residents were of course scared of it and demanded it to go away but after a week, it seems like they already like it. I wondered why but I later found out that it is helping in the hunting and also the plowing in the farm fields. I am happy that they accepted the lion. Since the Lion is a member of the village, I named it King because he is the King of the Woods. It seems like it likes my roof so that is fine. King is a really huge help for our defenses.

Since our village is getting better, I ordered the Scouting Squad to fully scout the whole forest. I also ordered King to join them since he is the King of the Woods. I had the artist dwarf to map the whole forest with them.

We also discovered that the cave of King is filled with a certain mineral. It is a mineral that is a lot like iron but the color is red. So this forest is basically red huh. We called it red iron and I and the blacksmiths forged new weapons, tools, and equipment for the village. The guards, farmer kids, and the ladies were thrilled. We later set up a mining station there but of course with permission from King which he does not seem to have a problem with.

We have also some minor events that occurred such as the creation of the well for water, house upgrades, new crops, and many more but those that were mentioned above are the main topics.

One day, while everyone was doing their everyday jobs, the scouts led by Bubba reported me something weird.

"Sir Wreck, while I and my men were scouting, we accidentally left the forest. Since there was still a lot of time left, we wandered around and we saw a nearby village of elves. What should we do about it, sir?"

Elves? Now that I think about it, I never met an elf yet! I should have expected that they exist. Now with this situation, I would likely not do anything but I am kind of feeling adventurous. I had a brilliant idea.

"Bubba, call all the members of the Council. We will be having an emergency meeting today. Also, tell your subordinates to join us."

"Yes Sir!"

After 30 minutes of waiting, all the called members have arrived.

"Bubba, tell us what you saw today."

And then Bubba explained to the Council his report.

"We should just leave them alone."

"Let us not disturb those elves."

"We should just defeat them!"

I heard many absurd ideas from the council. It seems like they do not have a good relationship with the Elven Race, so I asked them why are they mad, but they were not able to deliver so Laur was the one who told the story.

"My dear, the reason why the Beastmen, Salamander, Dwarves, and Harpies are mad at the Elves because the Elves has not been a good part of history on their races. Elves were known before as the Evil Conquerors. There was a time period were the elves conquered the lands of these races. It is understandable why they were emotional."

I asked Laur if they are mad at the elves but she answered that the fairies of her tribe really don't care as long as they do not mess with their territory. I have already asked Laur the location of the fairies' home because I never saw it in the woods. She said that they live in a different realm called the Fairy Realm and those who have no fairy blood cannot go inside.

Anyways, even with that knowledge of bad blood between the elves, I still did not give up on my idea. I could not hide them my opinion so I told them.

"My plan is to go to the elf village to establish a friendly relationship between the villages."

They all seem confused so I repeated it in an easier form.

"I will go to the elves and be friends with them. Doy you agree with me!?!"

"WHAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!"
