1 War of Kings

The silent winds and warm breeze caused such big trees and tall grass to shudder and flutter peacefully. On top of a rock sat a young youth with long black hair and rare eye color, it was white? Was he blind? or was it just he's sensitive to light? He stood up, and took out the bamboo flute he had on his back. He then took it up and began playing, it was sweet and harmonious, while his hair swayed in the air, he then stopped playing, and took out a sword hidden on his back. What happened? Why did such youth stopped playing such a wonderful tune and suddenly draw up arms? Rewind back in time to see how it ended up in this situation, to the spark of the War of the Kings.

In the same place where the youth was. There were farms and animals, there the people live a joyous and splendid life. Content to what they have, they all are happy and any traveler who pass through and decides to stay there are welcomed kindly. Either they were given bread, meat and milk or rice, meat and wine. This made it a happy place. At least it should have, until the War of the Kings broke out. Trade in this village slowed down, lesser men have been traveling. The people in the village may have started to go hungry, they began to worry about food.

"If this goes on we will starve to death! We can't let this go on! Our young will die and we perish!" A worried middle aged man told everyone at the village square. He was right, the young were starving and the old were frail.

"What else could we do? Those who sit on chairs and wear dresses don't give a damn about us commoners. Not to mention lesser travelers come by the days." A woman replied.

"We could try hunting." A youth blurted out.

"Hunting? That's crazy. None of us even know how to use magic." The middle aged man scolded the youth.

"He's right senile fool. If we can just hunt three wild boars, we can feed everyone for a day." Another youth stated. Everyone looked behind them to see who spoke.

"Mother! I told you not to go out! If you pass out again father will kill me." The youth went to his mother and assisted her.

"What do you mean by this? We can't possibly hunt out there! If it's just boars it's easy. But these past few weeks the magic beasts out there have been moving more wildly, and the presence of demon beasts have been spotted as well." The middle aged man said.

"It's fine! I can go and hunt!" The youth shouted.

"How foolish! Don't you go throwing yourself on to death." A woman said.

"I won't! I've been to the Forest a lot of times. I've memorized all the places magic beasts go to. I can avoid them." The youth boasted.

After a while, all the people there came to a conclusion. They agreed that 5 of them were to go hunt food. As they left for the forest, they then began to avoid where the magic beasts live and hunt.

"Deer. Give me the spear." A large man said. And a slender Man handed him a spear, not so sharp edge, but can still pierce through. "Whiz!" The spear flew and hit the deer's stomach.

The youth then went on to retrieve the deer. 4 hours later they got 4 deers, 2 boars and 2 more rabbit. It was already nay noon, so they head back to the village.

When they got back, everyone was happy. They saw food that will fill their belly, that night they were happy. But still, they never forgot to be frugal. They stored some of the meat after smoking it. For the next few months this went on. Until one day, the hunting team went off earlier.

As the children grew strong once more and the old were no longer feeble. Life began to go back to normal. That day, the winds weren't peaceful, the breeze was cold, the sky was dark.

"A storm. It's a good thing we stocked up on food." An old man said.

"I wonder about that." A man with big muscles and a big build said.

"Oh? Ur, your son, Mark, he's in the hunting team right? How is he?" The old man asked.

"Mark? He's fine." The big man said.

"I see, then, what did you mean a while ago? Ur?"

"Oh that? Nothing really, let's just hope it's not true." Ur said with an anxious face.

The old man stopped asking questions, he was the type who knew when to stop.

As the sky grew darker, the hunting team decided to go home.

Some time later, Ur and the others were sheltering the animals and quickly reaping ripe rice, when 500 men in horse back arrived at the village. Everyone stopped and greeted them by the gates.

"Give us food and water." The man upfront spoke with such foul voice.

"I'm sorry sir, but we ourselves have little to spare. But if you wish, you can pass the storm here and we can feed you all." The old man spoke politely.

"Why would we stay with bumpkins like yourselves. Just give us food and water and we will leave. We have a war to fight." The man once more stated with his foul mouth.

"Please understand, the storm will starve us and it will be cold." The old man once again politely spoke.

"How rude! We are going to war and you won't feed us?! Do you want us to fight on hungry stomach and lose?! If that happens you yourselves will die!" The man yelled.

"But-"

"Kill them all!!! I wanted to solve this without bloodshed, but you are just so stubborn!"

"Wh- what?! Pls do-" The old man's head flew, the foul man cut it off. And everyone saw this, they began to run away.

As the men on horse back burned and killed the villagers, it was a one sided massacre. When the hunting team, who were on their way back home saw smoke. They hurried back, only to then witness the village burning and the people dying.

Mark, the son of Ur ran to the village, his companions went in as well.

"No way is this happening! Mother! Father! You must be fine!" Mark muttered to himself as he ran pass the burning houses towards his home. There, he saw his frail yet beautiful mother getting raped. In a fit of rage, Mark used the machete they use to hunt and severed the rapists head. When his mother saw this, she was glad. She stood up and put on clothes.

"My son. You're back. Quick, we must go find your father. There is something you must know!" She stuttered and grab her son's shoulders.

Mark didn't say anything, he grabbed her hands and they went on to look for his father.

Later on, they saw Ur fighting ten men at once, holding a sword of about 5 inches wide and 2 ft long.
