Where it all began

[Good morning ladies and gentlemen! We are here for you today to bring a live forecast for the upcoming battle of team SIGMA, one of the best BAM team, versus the underdog, team Anonymous!!! My name is EDeternal YOUR HOST FOR THIS EVENT. My partner for today will be the fan's favourite commentator, Mr.F0X ]

The crowd goes wild after introducing the rest of the teams battling for the Major Cup series. Fighting for the 1 billion dollar prize pool of the competitive e-sports, Battle Against Mythic's.

[Supposedly, Team Sigma are all new players in the game. However, they've proven themselves in a better light, standing before us battling against the mighty sharks of the sea. ]

[That's right, ED. Today's going to be the best game ever played in all competitive e-sports, fighting for the largest prize pool ever enlisted!]

We are all patiently waiting behind the stage, summarising all our plans to annihilate the opposing hero drafts. There are 105 heroes in Battle Against Mythics, and almost 130 items at the shop for the player's disposal. Each of the items has its own ability to either purge the damage taken or burst an enemy hero of the opposing team.

[ LET THE FINALS BEGIN!!!]

Mr. F0X voice reverberates across the E-Sports Dome.

While I…stared patiently on my laptop's screen anticipating whichever team would win the grand finale of the tournament, watching their live stream in a famous site on the internet.

It was already late when the championships had begun, and I have still a research paper due for tomorrow's class. Even so, I couldn't let this chance slip before my eyes as I queued myself in for the luckiest guest of the V.I.P's internet lounge.

"You need to win, big brother" Of course, I would be cheering for my older brother, who had been fortunate enough to confidently stand on the holy platform of the E-Sports world. Even so, he's up against my favourite team who had demolished previous competitors from the last couple of years.

Ever since my brother went popular on stage, he decided to journey forth and reach a new height with his prestige skills in BAM. However, it was not too long that he had been totally consumed over from these popular aspects of being a professional player known worldwide.

He had been refusing our invitation to come back home and celebrate with the family. Although it's understandable that he couldn't comply due to his countless contracts signed by his company, it was still a big thing for us to be included from his achievements.

"Is Zack still live?" My mother shuffles her way on the couch and sits beside me with a bowl of popcorns on her hand.

She offered me a handful of popcorns for me to fully enjoy the live footage of the battle.

"Still no news about your brother?" My mother, Zenith, asks in a soft tune after dumping down the kettle down to her craving oesophagus.

"No…" My mood had been drastically deterred from the current flow of our conversation, but

I couldn't expect any absolute answers from my brother, Zack, playing at the western boundaries far from our country's residents.

We wordlessly watch the game since then, and the victor

Was none other than the new team that my brother had formed.

[Team Sigma.]

Tomorrow came, but my entire body was still half-asleep during all of the classes held inside our school. Luckily, the assignment to be pass for today was rescheduled due to some unforeseen events.

'I need to work on it tonight if I am still aiming for a job' I whispered to myself, hoping that it could boost the amount of confidence lingering inside my chest.

Suddenly, the last bell rings indicating the dismissal of the whole class.

"Don't forget to work on your assignments, alright? Especially you, Mr. Zero Petrov" The professor glares at me like a tiger who had found his last meal.

"Yes, Mr. Park" I squeaked out a reply and hurriedly stormed off outside the classroom as I eluded my embarrassment from the whole class. I could even discern my classmate's soft laughter the moment I had dashed outside the room.

Unluckily as I was, I slipped over on the floor freshly drenched with soap and water. Upon my crash, I had noticed a yellow cardboard sign with the words written

: CAUTION! THE FLOOR IS SLIPPERY! PLEASE AVOID RUNNING THROUGH THE WET FLOOR!

With an illustration of a darkened stick man falling off on the ground just like me.

It was a nightmare inside my dreams when I saw the whole sea of students coming by recording my ridiculous fall on the ground.

"HAHAHAAH, DUMBASS"

"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, LOSER!"

"KEEP UP! YOU'RE A DISGRADE, UNLIKE YOUR BROTHER"

And all the other insults I've been hearing since then.

I fought my tears raining through my eyes and battled my way across the exit of the school's domain. I sprinted as far as my two feet could offer, unaware from which direction I was running unto.

But then, everything have changed when I bumped accidentally on a soft lumpy surface, and a sign beside

: Enter, Red Mount's café:

Gazing through the window, I saw a bunch of computers waiting for it to be opened, and a few customers playing the most popular game known for our generation.

"Woah. BAM!" The words inside my head accidentally slipped out from my mouth, where the owner of the guy stood by my side, amused from my…awkward fall.

"Can I help you?" He said, as he scratches his auburn moustache carved on his freckled face.

He's a tall man just like my dad and has a chubby waist befitting for an old unmuscular guy. His hair was not that aged as a grandfather appearance would be, but his freckles between his eyes was one of his distinct features that made his over all aspects a friendly old geezer.

"Ah, sorry to barge in like this." I hurriedly picked myself up and organised my notebooks and pens scattered across the ground.

"Do you wanna come inside?" The old man asks as he curls up a warm heartened smile.

"Uh, no. I-'m sorry, but I…uh—" I couldn't find the words to reject his kind offer after what I've just did to his enormous wiggling belly.

"We're open for business. The first 2 hours are free. It won't hurt if you could check it out." He added, as he kneels down and help me organise my literature books taken from my school's library.

The old man stops his actions the moment he discerns an old photo of me and my brother standing right at each other at a green background for a decent family photoshoot. It was an old photograph before Zack had been offered by the company of Sigma, the current Northern Star Eye 2013.

"Your brother?" The old guy started to ask, while handling out the vintage image over to me.

"Yeah"

"Well, I guess you need to hone your skills better, and become his very own rival." Assuming that all my things had been already tidied up, the old man resumes his pace and casually walks inside the glass windows of his very own café.

"I wouldn't insist for you to come inside, but…it wouldn't hurt to play and try" Before venturing inside, he turns around and flashes me a genuine smile. He was the spitting image of my dad who had lost his life against the battle of the hideous disease, Cancer. Not too long ago, my brother had been relentlessly trying to cope up with the sadness dwelt inside his heart as he began playing all sorts of video games to boggle the news from our deceased dad.

Soon after, due to the stress accumulated from the death of our family member, Zack submerged himself in becoming the best professional player ever recorded in the history of BAM, a game where he had discovered last 2 year ago. He encountered trifling difficulties, but soon overcame it with the help of his buddies standing before him in the eternal podium of the E-Sports domain.

"A-Alright" I gave my response to the mysterious old man.

He welcomed me with opened arms, just like any other customer interested in his café, and soon opened a PC for me to play.

"Knock yourself out" he utters as curls up a grin, hoping to see something from my actual game play.

I was unlike my older brother in terms of games. I was indeed adept in learning, however, my brother

Was a monster.

Although, his achievements had earned him quite the decent titles, he had still sacrificed himself from those sleepless nights in order to achieve what he currently has. Seeing him right now made my heart all giddy to be able to witness his smile once more. After which, I too took great interest from the notes he had scribble down from the past few years of his training regime. He would merrily discuss the gist of the game with me from the latest meta's (the new trends of heroes and builds for the current patch) to the other tricks and tips he had discovered alone.

He was an innovator when it comes to these type of games, while I was sitting at the backlines admiring his hard earned work. Despite him being arrogant from the achievements he had obtained, I am still a proud little brother following his crooked shadow.

With a soft beep coming from the computer, I began rummaging the file and opened the familiar popular game known across the world.

: WELCOME TO WORLD OF LEGENDS:

: Welcome to the Battle Against Mythic's :

The computer screen flashes against my eyes, as I finally grab hold the mouse and keyboard once more.
