Forest appearance referred to the appearance of the forest, mainly including the level of the canopy and the quality and health of the trees. The forest could be divided into single-layer forest and multi-layer forest. The former referred to the trees that were of similar height and were basically one layer, while the latter referred to the trees that had more than two sub-layers. In the multi-storied forest, the forest layer with the largest accumulation and the highest economic value was called the main forest layer, while the forest layer with small accumulation and low economic value was called the secondary forest layer. A good forest condition refers to a closed forest, vigorous growth, and no pests and diseases, while a bad forest condition is the opposite. In short, the forest form referred to the appearance of the forest and the growth of the trees.
