Xuankong Temple was located between the cliffs of Cuiping Peak on the west side of Jinlong Gorge, Hengshan Mountain, Hunyuan County, Datong City, Shanxi Province. It was built in 491 AD during the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was one of the wonders of ancient Chinese architecture and was known as the " Hanging Wonder." Xuan Kong Temple was built with a wooden frame structure, and it was built on a cliff. It was extremely beautiful. There are more than 80 Buddha statues in the temple, all of which are made of copper, iron, stone and mud.
