Why did Guo Jing's promise to Hua Zheng never come true in the '83 edition of The Legend of the Condor Heroes?
In the '83 version of The Legend of the Condor Heroes, Guo Jing's final promise to Hua Zheng had never been fulfilled because of various twists and turns and accidents in the development of the plot. Guo Jing and Huang Rong had gone through many trials and tribulations and finally mastered the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms and the Nine Yang Scripture, becoming the top masters in the martial arts world. However, Guo Jing had always been thinking about Hua Zheng because he had promised her that he would marry her and give her a home. However, Hua Zheng broke up with Guo Jing because she already had a partner, Ye Lui Qi. Later, Guo Jing and Ye Lui Qi defeated the Mongolian prince Wanyan Hong Lie with the help of the Jiangnan Seven Devils and became heroes in the martial arts world. However, at the Martial Arts Circle Convention, Ye Lui Qi confessed to Guo Jing and asked him to marry her. Although Guo Jing hesitated for a while, he finally agreed to Ye Lui Qi's request. However, on the day of the wedding, Hua Zheng suddenly appeared at the wedding and proposed to reconcile with Guo Jing. Guo Jing didn't know what to do, but he eventually chose to forgive Hua Zheng and get back together with Huang Rong.
