My brothers are scattered and have no home to ask about life and death. I sent a letter to you, but it didn't reach you. Besides, I haven't stopped fighting. Tonight I hear your pipa, I'm homesick for a while. The meaning of this poem was: Dew from tonight, the white moon is the brightness of my hometown. Tonight I hear you play the pipa, and for a moment I miss home. This poem expressed Du Fu's longing for his relatives and friends far away from his hometown. The poem "dew from tonight white" and "the moon is the hometown bright" expressed the poet's deep nostalgia for the hometown moon and dew white, and also entrusted his longing for his hometown.
