Xiao Hong was born in 1912 in the Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. She was a modern Chinese translator and social actician. In 1934, she began her literary works, including novels, essays, poems, and translation. Her representative works include Life and Death Field and Hulan River Biography, which are considered classics of modern Chinese literature.
