Wen Tianxiang was a famous anti-Yuan general and national hero during the Southern Song Dynasty. He fought against the Yuan army at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty and refused to surrender. Under Wen Tianxiang's leadership, the Southern Song army defeated the Yuan army many times. Finally, at Wen Tianxiang's request, the Song emperor announced that he would abdicate the throne to Wen Tianxiang and allow him to continue guarding the country. Wen Tianxiang continued to lead the army to resist the Yuan Dynasty and sacrificed himself in the Battle of Auspicious Sun Mountain. He was hailed as one of the greatest national heroes in Chinese history.
