Richard Stockton was a famous American novelist in the 19th century. He was born in 1829 and died in 1893. His works were mainly featured by the war, politics, and social life during the American Civil War. He was regarded as one of the representatives of American post-Civil War literature. Richard Stockton's representative works include "Civil War"(C History of Tense),"On the Other Side of the Desert"(On the Road),"Elegy of Verginia"(Elegy of Verginia), etc. In his works, Richard Stockton deeply revealed the various problems of the society at that time and deeply reflected the mood and feelings of the people at that time through the deep description of war and human nature.
