"Returning to the Garden and Living in the Field" was one of the representative works of the Tang Dynasty poet Tao Yuanming. The original three lines of the poem were "Planting beans under the southern mountain, the grass is full, and the bean seedlings are sparse. I rise in the morning to clean up the waste and return home with a hoe. The road is narrow, the plants grow long, the evening dew stains my clothes. I don't care about my clothes, but I don't want to go against my wishes." The background of this poem was that Tao Yuanming resigned from his official position during the Tang Dynasty and began his ten-year-long rural life. He advocated getting rid of the shackles of officialdom and returning to nature to pursue a free life. After returning to seclusion, he planted beans in Nanshan and lived a leisurely life. At the same time, he also devoted himself to tidying up the land and improving the rural environment. This poem reflected his love for nature and his yearning for the rural life. At the same time, it also expressed his living conditions and mentality after he retired.
