The ending of Xia Na's novel and anime was different. In the novel and anime, Xia Na didn't get what she wanted. In the novel, Xia Na and Ishida Yulong got together but Ishida Yulong died in the end. In the anime, Xia Na ended up with the Witch of Fire, but they didn't have any physical relationship and chose to stay together to symbolize their love. Although the ending of the novel was different from the anime, Xia Na still got the life and ending she wanted.
