The plots of Douluo Continent 1 and 2 were not connected. Douluo Continent 1 told the story of Tang San crossing over to Douluo Continent under Huo Yuhao's lead and getting to know many spirit masters and spirit beasts. Douluo Continent 2 narrated Tang San's son Huo Yunxiang's growth in the Spirit Master world as well as his grudges with the Clear Sky School and spirit beasts. Although there are some connections between the two novels, their plots and topics are different.
